Generally speaking, no news is bad news but in this case he’s not strongly rumoured or been announced anywhere else. We may have made our best offer and are not budging.

Kinda glad we didn’t break the bank for him. He’s a good defender but there are other options. Would prefer he stayed but hey-ho, Partick must have offered more. Fair enough.

I reckon it was as much to do with length of contract as money.
We apparently offered him a deal to the end of the season, whereas Partick have signed him for 18 months.
It's a no-brainer for him.

Whether it's the right decision by us will depend on whether Keith Watson is fully fit very quickly or if we have another central defender lined up.

On the face of it, O'Reilly did well for us and will always be revered for his goals last week, but it's worth noting that he wasn't picked for what has so far been our best defensive performance of the season on the 16th of December.

Ah well!
Some you get, some you don't.

I'd have certainly preferred to have kept him and I would definitely not want to have lost him to a promotion rival but it's not a body blow to our hopes. He was an adequate centre half who carried a goal threat but he also had a few minus moments as well with us. An own goal against Partick (though granted it wasn't his fault), being partly to blame for Partick's third goal in the same match and by all accounts may have been fortunate to escape a red card against Airdrie on Saturday. There was also the soft penalty he conceded on his debut against Dunfermline. Also the last time we kept a clean sheet, against Dundee Utd last month, O'Reilly wasn't in the starting eleven so Murray probably doesn't have him in our strongest line up and what's the point of having Masson and Corr as cover if you don't use them? We'll have to see where the funds that were going to be used on O'Reilly get used before we can properly judge this loss.

I suppose you win some ,lose some. I'm sure IM has a plan B in place as it was never a cert that he was signing.

I just hope it's Brown & Murray in CD on Saturday as Thomas & Paton are a threat.
