Just saw the weather forecast for the week ahead on Countryfile and it looks horrendous for the end of this coming week on Friday which is as far as it goes.
Saturday won't be much better by the look of the synoptic chart.
Basically, gales with storm force gusts and extremely heavy prolonged rain.
Typical Gayfield!😎

It might have the rain tailing off but wind remains!

A forecast 20mph wind at Gayfield usually equates to about a 50/60mph so god knows what Saturdays’ 50mph will turn out like!? I have visions of a barn/cows floating by in the air.

Solid easterly gusts, I make that blowing straight along pitch towards pleasureland, gonna be another battle up there…

@ kick off - 43 knot winds, 60% chance of rain, feels like 5 degrees
That's just the current forecast, it could all change by Saturday Laughing

Thankfully it is the same for both teams.
I wonder how long it will take for the penny to drop that keeping the ball on the deck might be a good tactic......
Seems obvious really......if it goes ahead it will be interesting to know how we play.
Then again, if the surface is heavy with standing water.. Crying or Very sad

If the game is on and the weather is poor I would take a narrow scrappy win just to get three points in the bag

A wee heads up for the weekend perhaps?

We've already had yellow alerts from the Met Office for up here...and it's only Monday!
Maybe things will change as meteorological conditions and natural forces are rarely stable.

I see that the warning is now up to red for rain in Angus and Aberdeenshire for Thursday and Friday. Still amber for Saturday for wind.
If the huge amounts of rain doesn't get the game cancelled because of flooding then surely the wind will.
Wind direction will likely have huge waves coming over the wall and on to the terracing depending on the state of the tide.

Acht just get a few folk out with their brushes like what happened at Hampden Razz

In all seriousness would be helluva surprised if the pitch recovers in time for Saturday with the expected rainfall over the next couple of days up Arbroath way. The wind forecast, standard for Arbroath regardless of weather warning Laughing

Drove through east Perthshire this pm - would not surprise me if police cancel the game. The damage in the lighter storm area was quite bad can’t imagine the damage in Angus.
