The old season is nearly done and the new one about to begin.

Start and finish dates for the new game will be near enough to the seasons prior to the last, and a few rule tweaks and caveats, however the scoring and format will still remain the same.

T&C's will be issued soon, along with a list of current Managers.

This is interesting/confusing.

09/04/23 - Steven Naismith (Heart of Midlothian - Caretaker)

Quote:
In order to comply with UEFA regulations, with Steven not having the required Pro License qualification, a requirement to manage in European competition, Frankie will be named Head Coach with Steven serving as Technical Director.

Queens Park appoint a Dutchman, Robin Veldman as it's new manager. Had a short spell as caretaker for Belgium last season as well as being former Anderlecht Under 21 coach as well as at Ajax.

As I understand it, he's been in the 'background', 'advising' Owen Coyle over at least a part of last couple of campaigns.....

Hopefully he heeds his own advice when it comes to defending set pieces and cross balls.
They were almost as bad as us.

Please refer to the second post on this thread for the current list of managers.

There is an issue with the Hearts manager, Steven Naismith who is Technical Director due to not having the required UEFA licence is covered by Frankie McAvoy as Head Coach.
I will accept either name and will pay out if either leaves post.

Here are the slightly tweaked rules for this season.

Pick 7 Managers and nominate one as a Joker for double points and another as a joker for triple points, to nominate the joker put X2 or X3 after your nominated manager. This will be done by posting on the thread, once submitted no edits or re do’s will be accepted.

January window.

One Manager may be substituted during the month of January.
If the substituted manager is a Joker, the X2 or X3 is transferrable, not necessarily to the substitute.
This will be done by posting on the thread, first sub will be accepted, once submitted no edits or re do’s will be accepted.

Scoring,
Sacked, 20 points,
'By mutual consent or other reason' 10 points,
Resignation 5 points.

The reasons given will be determined by the statement on the team’s official website.

Double points will be given for a solo pick, e.g. if sacked and a joker (X2) and a solo pick = 80 points.

Solo pick means that no other competitor has chosen that manager.

Bonus points will be awarded when competitors have scored with their 3rd, 5th and 7th selections (this is the number of scoring selections, not the order in which they appear in the list), scoring 10, 15 and 20 points respectively. These points are separate from all other bonus scores.

The 'Specky Ginger' question clarification, if any manager moves on to another club and then again moves on, that manager will score the competitor further points.

Decorum, I hope that everyone understands that this game is played for fun, so therefore if a manager is forced to leave his post due to ill health there will be no points awarded.

The competition to commence at 00:01 on 31/07/23, no entries or edits will be accepted after this.

The competition will end 7 days after the last game of the season, e.g. (Scottish Cup final/ play-off final)

The only other rule is 'don't argue with me'

Post your entries and good luck.

Just a small pedantic moment.
Barry Robson is no longer caretaker at Aberdeen.
He's the main man now.

Anyway here we go for another thrash at managerial mediocrity.

John McGlynn
Lee Johnson
Jim Goodwin X3
John Rankin X2
Gary Naismith
Lee Bullen
Malky Mackay
