Exactly as LB says, essentially a mechanism to shoehorn in Premier B teams so they wouldn't have to start at the very bottom of the pyramid. The fact that it would put further distance, an extra huge barrier, between every other regional team and the national leagues, doesn't seem to matter to the biggest clubs.
Well done, Rovers - here's hoping proposals such as these are consigned to the bin |

| Rovers have a history of standing up to officialdom trying to make life easier for the big clubs. Nice to see that it continues with the current board. |

Apart from distancing some clubs from promotion, from what I have read, there seems to be no improvement to the existing promotion system either. I read an article in the Scotsman that states that only the top non-B club enters a play off. No automatic promotion / relegation and no play off for 2nd placed - 4th placed. Big clubs feathering their own nest and doing the square-root of the oval number for little clubs.
Vote takes place on Tues 6th. |

| I was concerned when the mention of an invite to enter a B team was mentioned in one of the interviews, with a comment about it being a year too early…now I feel much better. |

As far as I can see, the proposal is taking a kicking, with all non-Premiership clubs I have read about so far, voting "No".
I would be happy enough about B teams being locked in that proposed division, at that level. If they ever got entrance to the SPFL by starting at the bottom, then the OF (as a minimum) would have the influence and money to get their colt-teams negotiated and promoted to wherever they wanted. Heaven forbid Old Firm B sides ever occupied Championship or even Premiership slots! Keep them out of SPFL leagues, at all costs!
It beggars belief that they would not even use the opportunity to make promotion, relegation and play-offs fairer and on a par with all the other leagues. You would think that would be a no-brainer - a basic &*>>#~#?? starting point - and it would have been a massive selling point for most lower-league clubs too! Instead, the proposal reminds me of Ann Budge's proposal for re-structuring of the Scottish Leagues. A week of planning "Now - how could this best benefit Hearts FC?" - and one second of "What could it do for the rest of Scottish football? - ach whatever!".
The vote looks certain to fail, because planners only seem to have thought about themselves in drawing up the proposal. If rejected, toys will come out of prams - just wait and see! |

Aye SG you bet they will.
Might the answer lie in making the top leagues bigger and distributing the money share fairer? Whilst also, re-introducing the reserve leagues with the finances to pay for this?
Do this and the Diddier teams will miraculously become less Diddy, and the quality of our game in this Country will rise.

| If the Ugly Sisters want development teams, let them give up some of their pile of gold to support a real development league. Surely a 10, or even better, 20 team B league could be doable, and it would help funnel more players to teams outside the OF. |

If the OF want to better their young players, they are in the driving seat in respect of qualifying for the Champions League.
During this competition there is a shadow youth group and stage competition, they'll soon find out if their mini superstars are good enough competing against PSG, Bayern and the like.

Agree 100%, but, but but a bigger top league means no more four old firm games for the telly by the way, so that'll pure ruin Scottish football so it will.
