I see we have taken on board the services of Greg McEwan as our new Commercial Director.

This can only be a good move, to have a man of his experience working full time on the club's commercial interests.

I would guess, both Greg and John Potter's positions are salaried posts? However if they are the right guys for the job, they will be increasing the club's profits way over and above their salary levels.

Welcome both to Raith Rovers.

This could be a bigger catch than nearly anything on the pitch, reading his CV.

I agree Tex - we are lucky to land someone like him. He will bring money in, even if / when the turnstiles get a bit rusty - as they have recently!

This new consortium are true to their word. They really are getting things moving quickly! Anyone remember the confusion and stagnancy last year at this time?

Welcome to the Rovers Greg! Smile

Had reason to email the new Commercial Director, and got a series of quick responses to some questions. They also wasted no time fixing a website issue I mentioned where it conflicted with the new Commercial Brochure. Excellent work for/by the Club!

And now he is away!!!!!

There must be more to it than 'due to other business interests'.

Noticed a photo in the advert for commercial opportunity just mailed to me. It has a pyrotechnic clearly in the image. Surely a poor choice?

Also has the copied tweet of Dick extension!!! Thought we would maybe be a little more professional than that.

Reread the releases and stuff, looks like he was “helping out” a bit where they wanted a lot…maybe there was a miscommunication about how much time was expected. Anyway, be interesting to see where we go now, apparently more to a full time position?

I know his brother and spoke with him around a month ago. Greg was in a salaried position and employed 2 days or maybe it was 3 days a week. His early thoughts on the club was that there was a massive job ahead and the structure of the club made things very complicated, mainly due to the different holding companies.

Incidently he left hibs as he was not happy with the direction in which the club were going.

That seems to make sense, as the news talked about him consulting with the Rovers while running a firm. I guess that means there’s no change yet in the company web around the Rovers…but because Sim specifically mentioned he was involved in tracking down shareholders, perhaps a change is coming.

Perhaps an early task for her could be to address the fans displeasure over the match updates on Twitter (?X)
