There's a new look coming to the Main Stand but it's the proposed changes to the internals where the difference will be felt most, starting with the Sports Bar where the office presently sits.

I would counter that by saying firstly they have to make the club sustainable before things on the park improve. If the club does not increase revenue streams then the product on the pitch wont improve. If the club cannot encourage a wider fanbase, ditto.
There is a not so subtle difference between getting fans to spend money in a sports bar/burger bar/hospitality and just asking them to give money to the club for a player fund, something that has been questioned over the years.

That’s the nail hit!
I will say the rendering of the remodeled exterior is nice, but it’s sooooooo generic football park. We have a 100 year old Main Stand, let’s celebrate it with some nods to the architecture somehow. |

Love the look of this. Not fussed about retaining the exterior “character” as ever for its time it was hardly an architectural masterpiece. It’s just a solid brick building…
I think it changes that first impression that everyone gets when they come into the ground from the staff to players and fans . The only thing I’d say about the sustainability aspect is that this only works if we stay in the championship. If the budgets are the same and existing contracts cost more, it’s essentially a reduction on what we have left to spend on new players.
The last AGM I was at (pre covid) it was said that it was around a 600k drop in revenue between the championship and League 1. The most sustainable thing to do is not to get relegated! Depending on who else comes up, we might find ourselves with the lowest or one of the lowest budgets in the league.
The product on the pitch is what drives up attendances, please focus on that first. If we don’t have a team worth watching, all else fails.

Agree with the need to change the impression, but I think character has its place. A dormer with a gable end that has the RRFC and crest on it, like that overlooking the pitch would be a nice and easy addition the Pratt Street facade…and, for that matter, a matching pair on the short roof side of the Main Stand would be nice too. It could be added the next time the roof is addressed. The illustrated metal facing in a nice dark blue with white trim would much better reflect the club. Surely some solar panel firm could be found to bung a few panels onto the roof to add some “green” flavor in exchange for signage…assured some TV views now and then, plus a small savings for the Club. Add in a couple of nice video screens, with agreements to lower brightness as it gets darker, and shutting down overnight, to prevent a nuisance for neighbouring residents, and it starts looking pretty decent. |

This has been mentioned before but I believe it is not listed but may be of historic interest because of the Leitch name.
But I stand by my previous comments that all of this may be too much for the old lady of Kirkcaldy and had funds permitted, a move to a new and sustainable stadium would be the preferred option.
I would quite happily see the North Stand demolished to make way for a gym/physio/rehab centre with changing rooms (if constructed correctly, seating could be added on top if necessary) and the Railway stand redeveloped. The whole of the main stand could be given over to hospitality then.

No part of Starks Park is listed or located within a conservation area. This means that alterations to the exterior of the building do not require any statutory consents/permission from the council or historic Scotland. The only thing I can think of that may need consents in changing of the interior footprint (taking down walls etc).
I’m unsure if the club would need a “change of use” for parts of the ground but I doubt it as they clearly already have licensed bar/s and serve food. The council might need to know formally about the cafe, opening times etc as this will differ from current.
