If they thought they had chance with St Johnstone they would have went their first before negotiating with us. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Apart from us being a cheaper option Silverbear had alledgely been carrying out due diligence for almost 2 months and not so sure Brown announced he was wanting out St Johnstone at that time _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Seriously underwhelmed by that interview! Despite being asked, much was skirted around through a slightly related story for 5/10mins before ultimately being left unanswered, Mr Sim would make a decent politician! |

Unlike SB , I found John Sim's interview very interesting and informative ( whilst not expecting to be advised of all the inside story of the current Raith Rovers.) There's loads of comment on the other channel, with the usual mixture of reasoned and skewed views. Best to view interview and form your own opinion!
BTW, good interviewing technique by Davie. Many thanks again to him and Raith TV ( which also extends to the post-match QP interviews ). |

No change there, the last 17 years have had much of the same.
The season ticket sales bit about older fans and armchair football may have some truth in it but it's certainly not the reason why I did not renew, and I suspect some others too.
No acknowledgement about the mistakes of last year other than we are making less of the same mistakes, that's true but some of the decisions made have been worse on a stellar scale.
"Will we need to sell players?" That's the managers decision he said. For me that didn't really cover it adequately. Either we do or we don't and I doubt IM will have any say in it if an offer comes in, cue "We couldnae stand in the boy's way!"
He said we lost £100k last season after 2 years of making a profit, I find that strange considering there was a hell of a lot more money came into the club last season, yet there was no real explanation.
"we scare people (investors/board members) away" he said. Why do you think that is John?
The bit where he enthused about volunteers then almost seemed to ask why they've deserted the club
"We need someone charismatic and passionate, and that's not me" No argument here but once again I find myself wishing Turnbull Hutton was still with us, he was all that and more.
As Davie all but said he had to temper that interview with an outlook on maintaining the relationship between Raith Tv and the club (Sim), I'll bet there was a lot more Davie wished he could ask and say. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 16, Easton 11, Hamilton 9, Smith 7, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1,

Too many indirect answers or no answers at all. Thought Davies interview was a bit disjointed at times. Didn't get the answers sought and just moved on in the interests presumably of keeping Sim onside.
A bit of a snorefest and no real clarity of our current position. I'm curious how painting two stands costs half a million. |

If you’ve ever gotten a quote on house painting, you’ll not be so surprised. This would be painting the whole stand, especially the roof and sides. Requires scaffolding, probably requires some stripping/prep work, and I’m certain you can’t buy the paint at the local Homebase. |

Ok thanks for that. I was thinking a few tins of Dulux and a step ladder would do the job. |

Just watched, good communication from the club and Raith TV. This avenue should be used as the clubs starting point.Official detail through official channel.
John is an enigma and as such he drifts, frustrates, reasures and confuses. He does however step forward. The timing was good and enough distance us between DGW to save the chance of a bun fight.
I respect the view that NR found it "boring" thats great for me, no missiles flying over the place, no one will have been more disappointed that the newspapers who will have been gutted that there wasn't a chance to kick the club again.
Mention of further meeting jnterested me as I would send in a question that to be honest I wouldn't ask JS to his face as I don't really know him well enough. |

Did a quick search, and found a 2019 bid to paint the exterior surfaces only of an American football stand about the size of the north or south stand. It wasn’t comparable because of greater smooth surface area, being overall less than 1/2 the total area of one of our stands (lacked the roof to paint) and the greater amount of finicky pillars/beams. It included surface prep and cleanup, no rust repair (just wire brushing), and was $100,000 for just that.
If you figure triple the amount to paint in each stand due to height and additional work, that’s $600,000, or about £460,000 in 2019 pounds, under U.S. regulations. Now writing that out made it clearer to me what a huge undertaking it is, and I’m sure the paint itself is pretty costly to make the bid that high. |
