Thanks WJ and Tx. Hope the OF don't get to start exerting their influence - even in this contest! |

Got back from holiday yesterday to late to get to the game and have been patiently waiting for some highlights to be shown anyone know where to look to find them. |

Posting from a very wet Tenirefe.
Having only seen the highlights, whilst Cove didn’t have anything on target, it can leave you with the wrong assumptions. They created chances, they simply didn’t take them.
Stopping a team creating good chances has to be up there with all the other targets.
Another day could have well led to a poor loss.
Admittedly, that is my view on a few minutes of highlights. We could have done better with our chances also as a few didn’t work their keeper either.
Gotta say that it is the scoreboard that ultimately gives joy or sadness.
I’m liking the look of this squad.
More strength in depth and hopefully the squad will benefit from the injured returning also.
And good footy style as well. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Also off only updates and highlights:
Ngwenya showed a little youth/inexperience, getting rinsed a couple of times, but he’s not badly positioned. His break forward and ball control was very nice leading to the goal, and his attempt later was well done. Would love to see more of him at LB, didn’t see enough to know if Nolan or Dick as CB is better in that case.
As Cuparman notes, we are still living dangerously with lots of scrambles in the goal mouth.
Wonder what it is that IM sees in Coulson over Mitchell…not saying he’s wrong, but it’s not what we saw under JMcG. I note again that Coulson and Mitchell are both only signed through May 2023, and Mitchell’s only on a MA contract.

Before the game I would have been happy with a scrappy 1-0 win, and from watching the highlights, it looked like that was exactly what we got. Well done Macbride though for starting his goal tally. Again only from the highlights, it looked like Cove squandered a lot of goal scoring chances. This was a wee bit worrying with our defence allowing what often looked like a free shot, or header toward our goal. On the other hand we too had our chances in front of goal which were not converted. A game I think which could easily have turned out differently for either side. Anyway, a win is a win. Let's hope we can repeat this result in Kirkcaldy on the 8th of October when it really matters!
Coulson, by all accounts, had a good game and good on the young lad for taking his chance. However, like Tex, I am surprised young Mitchell is not more involved in Ian's plans? Any time I have seen him play he seemed more than capable, and I really thought we were looking at another Bowie in the making. I of course do not see him in training every day, but I thought he and Arnott who always looked sharp, might have figured more in Ian's plans? As others here have said though, the squad is now starting to gel and when you include the injured guys coming back, this must be starting to give Ian very difficult decisions when picking the team. I guess you simply can't play everybody! |

See Wolfman Jack's post above. Projected for 3rd Oct - I guess if that is okay with the Old Firm B-sides, who still need to play! As he said earlier, there's no reason not to just go ahead and have the draw regardless - A or B v Whoever - like they would in other cups -or any other sides for that matter. |

Thanks for this WJ. Home to Morton. First of out the hat. Muted sound just came back on in time - and Rod Stewart was not on duty! |
