Back to football when is Murray going to stop taking the fans for fools?

This is the third time a much needed and vaunted signing has failed to materialise.

Poor show from Raith TV for letting this pass without comment.

Never let the facts get in the way of the BBC fawning over one Firm or another.
I agree with much of what you say Embow, just asking for a little respect for the passing of someone's Mum/Gran/ Aunty etc.

Back to football as you say, oh aye, there's none
Ah well, always next week Wink

This thread has become beyond ludicrous and deserves to be consigned to the bin. There is no humanity, humility or dignity within the posts here, really saddened by my fellow Rovers fans tonight.

One of my apprentices came to me today asking for a private word, his gran passed away two days ago and he wondered if he could get time off for the funeral, he was in bits. He will get his day of for his gran, many of you will get a day off for the funeral someone else's gran.

Even if you have no respect for the late Queen, at least have some respect for those that mourn her passing.

Please don't turn the passing of someone's granny into a political debate,

I don't really care about the royals either way but if you are going to play the 'she is someones Granny's' card then the football definitely shouldn't be postponed. The football is only being postponed, not because she is someones Granny, but because she was the head of state which is a political position.

As fans, we have no say in the matter although all clubs are represented in the SPFL. I guess we just have to accept that decision, whether we agree with it or not.

While it is may be a bit tough on people who had planned a day out around the Arbroath game, I struggled to see past a home victory for the Smokies tomorrow, had that match gone ahead.
A skeletal Rovers squad, with question marks over players, under a lot of pressure and away to a windy Gayfield. (We could yet end up in a relegation dogfight with them). As things stand, there is a chance of a few players fully returning to fitness from injury - and maybe even new faces before the next game, whether that game be Ayr next Saturday or Cove the Saturday after. If the latter, then we would not kick a ball in the league until October the 1st. Regardless of right or wrong, the enforced break might work out in the club's favour at the moment.

Have to take issue with your post, Red Zebra, though respect your right to your opinion. Your apprenticeís personal grief is as profound as of those who associate with the Queen. No-one here questions that Iím sure. Thatís not the issue. The institution of the Royal Family is defunct and there is no good reason for cancelling football this weekend in its name. All respect to those who grieve for the Queenís loss but why is football taking the hit while other sports continue? Frankly itís nonsense.

I take your point Valleyboy, and appreciate your considered language but, it was not the Royal Family's decision to postpone the games but the governing bodies. Perhaps I misinterpreted posts but it seemed that some people were pointing their fingers at the wrong target.

When I spoke of humanity, humility or dignity, it was in reference to the way some posters were denigrating the death of a human being, irrespective of the position she held in society.

Castle, the monarch is not a political position, in fact they are apolitical.

The Head of State is an apolitical position as you say,RZ. Some of the comments in the ''debate'' on here are political, however,
and should have been removed by the Moderators (irrespective of whether or not the Moderators are in agreement, personally, with the sentiments expressed or not.) Those are the Forum's Rules.
As for the death of The Queen, I again agree with RZ.
Any man`s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

I've yet to read any disrespect or abrasive comments regrading the death of the Queen. Seen Liz Truss name been mentioned but that is about it with regards to politics.
The monarch may maintain a veneer of neutrality on political matters but the position of head of state is very much a political one.

Was in Edinburgh earlier, cops everywhere. I spoke to one who said there are 500 getting bus'd through each day, mainly from Glasgow, for the next wee while, which he commented on it being a complete over kill.

Am sure it will it would never be made public but I would not be surprised if this was the reason for games being called off rather than a mark of respect.
