How does one go about getting a refund on the ticket I bought for this game as there is no way I will go there for a mid week fixture. |

I would normally agree with this view, however on this occasion with it being our head of state I think it is the correct decision to show respect in this way.

GOV.UK Guidance for National mourning does not require any sporting fixtures to be cancelled. This is purely at the discretion of each organisation.
From a footballing perspective it might not be a bad thing for us and it saves Murray having to roll out another interview telling how desperately we need a striker and Davy Hancock to joke about having his car engine running ready for the big reveal next week.
The thought of playing Arbroath with Connell and McBride as our strike force had my blood running cold. |

Perhaps Liz Truss Will borrow some more money on our behalf to compensate the businesses that will lose loads of money - just when they’re already on their knees - this weekend and beyond due to sporting cancellations. Or might she instigate a windfall tax on the Duchy of Lancaster instead? Let’s see |

Last estimate was that the royal family are worth £75billion, pretty sure they will be keen to help out their Britain as a whole financially as we all toil in the current climate?
No? Didn’t think so. |

Was watching something last night, Forbes magazine or something claimed it to be £30b last year but claimed their figures were off at it’s closer to £75b.
I ain’t got a clue if any of it’s accurate, wouldn’t surprise me though. |

Nothing to do with Liz Truss the SPFL made the decision vent your spleen on them. |

Well aware of that, Northern Rover. Just venting my spleen on the Tories for taking my money to cap prices instead of taxing the absurd gas/oil energy company profits. Doubt if Truss knows the first thing about football (or anything else for that matter.) SPFL probably terrified to do anything else for fear of criticism from right wing royalist newspapers. Note that horse racing is going ahead this weekend though. Wonder why? |

It's an unprecedented situation in our lifetime, so it's a bit of a judgement call.
My personal feeling is that holding the games with appropriate marks of respect is the right way. Its a heavy going time for anyone, regardless of feelings towards the monarchy - given the breadth and depth of coverage - and sport provides light relief and normality. We have a situation where some sports go ahead, some don't, and the vast majority of other social and leisure pursuits remain unchanged.
However, when the English leagues went then there was only one way this was going to go. |

This thread has become beyond ludicrous and deserves to be consigned to the bin. There is no humanity, humility or dignity within the posts here, really saddened by my fellow Rovers fans tonight.
One of my apprentices came to me today asking for a private word, his gran passed away two days ago and he wondered if he could get time off for the funeral, he was in bits. He will get his day of for his gran, many of you will get a day off for the funeral someone else's gran.
Even if you have no respect for the late Queen, at least have some respect for those that mourn her passing.
Please don't turn the passing of someone's granny into a political debate, _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |
