4 goals in 44 games in the last two seasons for St. Johnstone. Pass, surely? | I'd reckon so lol but no other name comes to mind that's on the realistic level all I can think is matej or may _________________ Murray |

Now that is a dilemma? A proven goal scorer at a decent level, but at 34 can he still do it? If St Johnstone are releasing him it's because he is not part of their plans anymore, and there must be a reason for that?
IF we signed him, he would be playing against lesser defenders than those in the top league, and you would think he may therefore have more goal scoring opportunities. He could be worth a one year contract, but I cannot see him coming across for the salary Dario was on? We might have to find more money and that might be a deal breaker.
However having said all that, if we did sign him I personally would be happy to give him a chance. |

Last 4 seasons at St. Johnstone he's scored 21 goals in 116 games. Thats not great, not prolific and in current terms, barely proven goalscorer. Going further back he scored 8 goals in 75 appearances for Aberdeen, so near on 200 games since he came back to Scottish football in 2017/18 he's got 29 goals.
Lesser defenders or not, how we can complain that Gullan isn't a goalscorer and justify trying to bring in this guy is baffling. |

Aye. Fair enough GP. Good point. Just thought the lesser defenders might just make a wee difference? |

I think we hope that for every striker that comes down from the top league, but to my mind there isn't a huge difference in class between the bottom SPL 6 and the top of the Championship. Of course, money talks at the bigger clubs.
For me, May is the wrong profile too, 34 years old, not in any sort of form too.
McNulty is a free agent, could a short term deal be done for him? Or can we go and try and get another sides striker? If we could do that, Smith or Gallagher from Airdrie could be good, or as a punt, Robertson at Edinburgh. Though from speaking people previously, the thought on Robertson is he'd prefer to be in the pub with friends than taking his game seriously, but he's a talented and very quick player. |

Stevie May HAS to be a no-no. Very similar profile to Keatings when we signed him.
A ‘goal scorer’ who doesn’t score goals, struggles to keep himself fit and trying to live off a reputation from many years ago. |

From Murray's pre match interview. No new players incoming at the moment. Zanatta leaving was down to Zanatta wanting to leave and he wasn't released purely to free up funds for a new player. |

I might have to re-listen to it but I'm sure what he said was we were holding out for a marquee signing and that for most part it's sometimes down to luck and usually at the 11th hour. I didn't take from his interview that a marquee signing was guaranteed other than Sim saying there were funds still available to Murray to add to the squad. |

Sim said we were looking for a marquee signing but it's not a guarantee. It also depends on the definition of that too |

Clarified in todays IM interview…loans downward OK through September…so we can get people from Premiership, and loan downwards, for an extra month. |
