In some ways the performance might matter more than the result. If we get narrowly defeated but put in a good, resolute display defensively and cause Dundee problems going forward it will give us hope for the coming weeks. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

I agree.
Problem is, the team has to take some confidence out of the result so that heads don’t go down.
I’m optimistic. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

To be fair, our attacking lineup would be something like
MacDonald
Nolan/O’Riorden
Stanton/Easton/Ross
Connolly/Gullen/Connoll/Mitchell/Zanatta
Care to project the results of that? |

We're doing OK right now.
Two outstanding saves by the Dundee Keeper, or it could have been 2-0 Rovers at half time.
Young O'Riordon having a very steady start and looks like he may well contribute to the healing of our defensive problems. Nolan and Masson also looking good. Ross has had a very good first half also.
I hope there is no second half collapse like last week.

Plenty of endeavour but not much in the way of quality. I'd have to see the goal again so I couldn't say who was responsible. O'Riordan looks like he'll be a good player if still a bit raw. Fact is we look frail at the back and every time Dundee press us I get the fear.
We've had a few dangerous forays into their box but nobody to make anything from them. Stanton though has produced two good saves from their keeper. I'd be surprised if Dundee don't score again if we don't first. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Convinces me Stanton is not a DM/holding mid…needs to be played forward more. We really could use Spencer sooner rather than later. |

Comfortably esconced in rock bottom with no goals scored and four against after admittedly only two games but it really is worrying this early in the season.
The sooner the long term injured get back into the team the better the chance of avoiding doing 'a Pars' ☹️ _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Going by updates, it seems to me that just for once, we were genuinely unlucky today, althought it does highlight the need for a tried-and-tested striker.
This defeat could work in our favour. If we had won, complacency might have followed. We now know where we are in this league, with the current squad and what needs to be changed next. |

Sat far too deep in the first half and gave the worst Dundee team I've seen in 45 years of watching football far too much respect and far too much time and space.
Second half was a considerable improvement and it's a travesty that they're heading up the road with three points.
However, we can't hide from the fact that we're now four and a half games without a goal.
Two good penalty claims denied.
I thought Connolly got his foot in between the Dundee player and the ball, although the highlights might clear it up, and there was a blatant two hands on the back push on Gullan.
The optimist in me says that we're only two points behind fancied sides like Arbroath and Inverness.
The realist in me says we need at least a win and a draw from Morton and Hamilton to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle from the off. _________________ Dougie Hill

Only 3 goals conceded and 3 points from 4th if you want to look at it in a more positive light can't really turn the goals for into something positive though.
Question, can I change my seat after the season begins? We moved seat this year to get away from some trumpet sitting behind us talking utter nonsense all season and now we've got two of them behind us shouting helpful things like "work harder" and "change it Murray" without offering anything meaningful. |
