Should never have got that far.
Big shake up required asap starting with signing someone with a bit of potency in front of goal or changing things to have more than a lone striker. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

If Murray can't get the players required, I really think we'll struggle this season |

St Mirren pumped out tonight, St Johnstone as good as out too. Thankfully we aren’t the only ones underachieving!
Possibly pointless question but is league position in this thing down to goal difference or head to head?
i.e Do we need to beat Aberdeen by one goal or two to win group? |

Disappointing result, but clear to see we are currently even weaker than we were at the end of last season.
Not sure any Championship sides will be quaking in their boots about facing us just yet! Let's see what comes to fruition this week.
I forget how it works with progression - is best 2nd placed still an option or not? |

Were we that bad due to problem with me receiving my season ticket I couldn't listened to the Raith TV guys. My question is has the manager spent his player budget on his first three signings? If not why the delay yes we have to get the right players but it is becoming a wee bit scary. I really hope I am wrong. |

I thought we played really good football until it came to getting into or onto anything in the box.
We are lacking a good striker......someone like.....ah dunno......POP!!!.
Final ball into the box either ended up being blocked or the shot was at the keeper or ended up off target.
I dunno how some people can watch that and think of nothing but doom and gloom, it’s almost like we want them to fail.
The pass and move footy is only being let down by poor finishing/ little bit of bad luck/ poor choices in and around the box.
Give them a break guys. The second half of last season was poor in comparison to the slick play we are seeing atm.
There can be no accusations of players not working hard or linking up well and moving the ball around.......it’s not humpball, that’s for sure.
At the start of matches at San Starko the announcer shouts” let’s get right behind the Rovers”.......dinnae think he means “ let’s slag them off as much as possible “ then we can all sit back and criticise the team before the league campaign even starts!! _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

I think the negativity comes from the fact that we are struggling to breakdown part time teams. That has almost certainly cost us any chance of progressing into the next round and it's not a given we'll even finish second in the group which would have seen the coffers boosted by several thousand pounds.
We maybe need to get back to 'humpball' as that's what got us our last goal. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Agree we played reasonably well last night, but again our lack of ability to finish was our downfall. Also, a "Man of the match" performance from their young keeper didn't help our cause in any way.
My big worry though is drawing two games in a row against teams TWO divisions below us!
I heard Ian's post match interview and he rightly points out the team needs two possibly three additions to the squad, also the group have only been together for five weeks. All of which are reasonable enough mitigating reasons for not yet being at our best.
My main concern now is: Will the Cove game followed by the Dundee game come too quickly for us? |

It is clear from Murrays interview that he has written off the League Cup as a pre season exercise. He spoke about Cove and the start of the real season several times. That's disappointing given what supporters have spent supporting the team in these League Cup games. He even spoke of changing things for Aberdeen. Eh?
I'd doubt that two or even three signings this week even though we desperately need them will provide a settled starting 11 in just over a weeks time.
As it stands I fear a tough start to the campaign but hope I'm wrong. |

Well Aberdeen managed to get five past Stirling. We struggled to get one in the 90 minutes. Thankfully saving my cash for Cove so will watch the game on TV and with the option of if it's crap I can switch it off. |
