I can't seem to find much on this yet. Does anyone know if it will be Scottish teams only participating or back to Welsh, Northern Irish teams etc? |

Hopefully just Scottish teams. The 'foreign' sides bring nothing but debt to clubs for trips they can ill afford. Also get shot of the colt sides.
Want to improve it? Add in the SoS League and Highland League top 6 or so sides in place of the colts. (Ignoring the colt sides in the SoS of course!).
Let them all play in the earlier rounds and bring in the top 8 from Championship at a later stage.
I would much rather have a trip to East Kilbride or Brora than to play any second string prem side. |

I pretty much agree with most of your post, but given there are 30 clubs in the lower leagues, all we need are the team relegated (Cowdenbeath) plus Fraserburgh, and you have a perfect number of 32 teams for a knockout competition.
I would point blank refuse to pay money to watch a colts team in this cup, even in a semi or final. _________________ Dougie Hill

I think we should keep the other uk sides and colts but change to a group system in the earlier rounds where we play home away (try and get sky or bt sports to broadcast) Seriously though… what the two guys above me said! |

IIRC the travelling team to and from Scotland receive money from the SPFL to cover expenses. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

That's correct, but ultimately the expenses are coming out of the prize pot, therefore it's still costing the clubs, albeit indirectly. _________________ Dougie Hill

Other than a nice day out, I don't have any real interest any more in this cup. We've won it twice, and one of those times was the best way it will ever be possible to win this.
The Colt teams are an absolute sham and nothing more than a justification to get them playing league football, thankfully the attendances are abysmal in those games. |

I don't see us progressing but am hopeful that we can. Will not spend money to go there again this season once was enough. |

We always seem to be drawn away to them. They have gubbed us three times in a row there. 4th time lucky? They are certainly no longer looking like Paul Hartley's almost unbeatable side that they were over the last few seasons. On the up-side, Cove might see this as a formality now, after so many victories over us there - even the first day of the season and that in their current poor form. By contrast, we are kind of improving. |

Would we want to?
Rather have automatic entry to the champions league. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |
