If it is him, I think he needs a more experienced n.o 2 than Whittaker tbh.
That said Whittaker would probably make a decent n.o 2 to a more experienced manager.

The man certainly has fire in his belly and was a real good player.
That said, being a good player doesn’t mean he will be a good manager or coach.

Who ever gets the job is going to be a risk I suppose.

Whoever the board choose, I would ask the fans to get behind them and back him and the team, regardless of their past.

We can always burn them at the stake later. Shocked Laughing Wink

Inexperience is a massive risk however Brown has learned from some good managers and some alternatively, utter dross like Mowbray and Glass. Hopefully he is able to come up with his own style based on that experience and pull the club together. Would be an absolute baptism of fire and the recent hires of Maloney and Glass need to be considered as a warning as to what could go wrong.

If he got the job, he would be backed by the supporters but the expectation at Starks is playoffs or bust every season. Can he achieve that first season with a reduced budget and spaces to fill?

Always got the positives that hel have ties with celtic and we've seen a few decent players come from there regan Hendre for one plus the possibility of having celtic as an affiliated club could only be a positive aswell

Let’s face it - no matter who we get will be a gamble and will split the fans opinions. We are unlikely to get an established successful manager, any new manager is a risk.
While I am a wee bit wary about Brown, he has contacts throughout the game, his name might help to attract(and keep certain players), he could still do a job for us on the pitch similar to when Jimmy Nicholl came, he’s got fire in his belly which we need at times.
The big fear is that the good footballing style we could play at times may not be continued to the same extent, but maybe with the right assistance it could be more adaptable to meet changing styles.
Jimmy Nicholl came in on the back of successful foundations laid by the late Frank Connor, led by example and to a certain extent controlled a lot of what happened on the park when he played, encouraging and directing the younger ones round about. This could be a similar scenario.
I’m not pushing for it, but let’s face it, what stand out choices are there, unless the Board pull a rabbit out out the hat like Celtic did with Ange!🤪🤪🤪

Pinky is spot on with this comparison with the arrival of Jimmy Nic., who, it must be remembered, had the assistance of the redoubtable Martin Harvey. I never ever thought that I' d hear mysel say it, as I really disliked his on field attitude, but his will to win cannot be questioned. A good friend, for whose opinion I have great respect, has done a great deal of work for him and insists that he is a really decent guy. We're never going to get someone with John and Paul's obvious love for the Rovers-whoever we get will just be 'passing through',but, given the calibre of some of the other names being quoted, I think that Scott Brown is a decent shout.

I wouldn't be against Brown getting the job. I'd imagine he'd be quite popular among sponsors and potential sponsors, at least in the short term with the increase media exposure he would give to the club. Not sure however if we could afford his wages as sooner or later he'll get an offer from some club.

Whittaker is a good coach apparently and has a focus on attacking style football brown would include defensive and passing style it could be done right and be really effective plus I'd happily take a chance on him it's either take a chance and he turns out to be successful or dip into the current pool of managers ie levien Glass mcpake everyone we know would be terrible

he woud also have a lot of contacts within the game for the potential of some decent loanees from perhaps Hibs or Celtic. As previously said, Sir Jimmy was a risk that was more than successful so could be worth a shout. Is Brown from Hill o'Beath?
