There's little doubt that the Dark Side would offer him more money

While I don't disagree per say, but why the insistence, what are his coaching credentials? Ex-Celtic and Scotland player is not a striking resume that says "will be good manager in the Championship playoff race"

Would you rather take a chance on someone who has connections in high places and whittaker as his assistant who is a top level coach or dip into the pool of unemployed managers like Glass or mcpake or possibly Hughes bear in mind Jimmy Nicol was untested aswell

Stephen Whittaker ,a top level coach?
Not the First Team coach at the Pars then, who ,along with Hughes, has just taken down Dunfermline to League One?
Wouldn't have ruled out Scott Brown completely when he first announced his interest, but it's not promising that he would want Whittaker
and I'd have been more open to persuasion if Brown was proposing being player/manager but he seems to have hung up his boots.
May as well await the Board announcing the new manager and then get behind that person.

I'm leaning more and more towards Brown after learning hes a firm believer in the Brendan Rogers way of doing things, much like McGlynn learned the same so that in itself would be some kind of continuation in the way we play, as for Whittaker maybe he could be persuaded to have someone else, but lets not forget some of those Pars players were just not interested and if course the Hughes factor

Brown is no more a risk than anyone else getting banded about TBF and that includes if we had kept JMc and PS.

Generally nobody likes changge or are frightened off it

We,ve been forced into a change as JMc has decided to jump ship and no matter who comes in wont be good enough for some.Need fo accept it and get behind whoever comes in

A fair bit of truth in that Vinnie, but I'd argue that anyone taking their first job is more of a risk than a seasoned pro, however sometimes those risks are worth taking.

Well just make sure you do get right behind whoever comes in. Even if it's someone you don't rate.

Let’s be honest, he was pushed by the current BoD. Despite the “reported” talks and such, that was all a last minute smokescreen, in my opinion, designed to cover their tracks. They got their fall guy with JMcG leaving.

The BOD may well have low balled Mcglynn in the hope he would move on. I doubt very much he's a fall guy for the DG fiasco though more likely a change of leadership is desired.

Now that the dust has settled and the emotions are less raw I feel it may be a good time for change.

Re Brown my only concern is that with any kind of success we could end up with a McKinnon type scenario.
