Ok, I'll kick off

Top pick would be Paul Hartley from Cove

Second choice Kevin Thomson from Kelty with Scott Brown as assistant

I'd second Hartley, with Ian Murray from Airdrie as a second choice.

I'm not convinced Thomson has done enough at Kelty to make him a standout, his team had a massive budget compared to the rest of the division and the likes of Cardle, Austin, Higginbotham and even Barjonas were far too good for that league that even someone like John Hughes couldn't fail to be promoted if he was in charge there.

Just none of the failed nonsense that always get linked with these jobs, no McPake (charlatan), Glass or Maloney who want to get back on the horse so to speak after ruining the clubs they previously managed. And no "old head" types like Tommy Wright, who barely got a tune out of Killie this season before being punted in December.

Both teams with money, and on the up…don’t think we’ll appeal to them. If Airdrie fail to make promotion, Ian Murray might be a good shout…Petrie is a pipe dream, but still.

No chance of Hartley. Hes settled in Aberdeen and it's a decent gig at Cove.

D Lenon, love in with Sim.

I'm getting past caring tbh, it feels like we are in a race to destroy the club from within asap.

Steven Naismith with Berra assistant could be a good shout and not overly expensive one? Spent years together at Hearts, International/Top flight experience Scotland and England, plenty contacts (I imagine) up here and down South.

Inexperienced I know but better than any of the usual merry go round suspects…

I have no faith in the current Board when it comes to the recruitment of a new management team. Their recent track record of poor decisions is alarming.

I would love to be proved wrong and hope they do have an ace up their collective sleeve.

Given Sim's recent media output, i wouldn't be too surprised if we ended up with Goodwillie as player manager. (TIC)

This is my greatest fear also. Does any kind of strategy for the football side of the business exist in the boardroom? I see no evidence.

Is there any board member with a football 'inside track' or with contacts to make use of? Again, nothing there.

As already offered up, maybe a Naismith/Berra combo might work - I don't know. I've also heard great things about John Rankin (currently assisting at Accies), if you wanted to come up with a Nicholl-esque type appointment.

Kevin Thomson seems the right sort - it's not his fault that money has been thrown at the Kelty project, he's just used it well.

One last option being mentioned is James McPake, to almost totally negative reaction on here. I'm not so sure - the guy has some plus points, top of the list being he's honest, he's a hard-worker, and thorough. I'd have him long before charlatans like our recent past efforts (Hughes, Locke), or before we made a mistake along the lines of Dundee's (McGhee).

Paul Hartley huh? He has Premiership style players lined up, going full-time in 2023, lots of money for players and his board are fully behind him. Cove Rangers will be in the top four next season. We on the other hand, will be very lucky to attract a manager who can save us from relegation next season. And no - we won't get to vote on it!

If it hasn't sunk in yet, we just lost our manager to a club a league below us - not above us. I cannot see any top manager quitting so that they can come to us. It will most likely be a sacked lower-league manager or a former player with no experience.

Now that the chairman has stepped down and the management team have gone, are the high-profile people who turned their back on the club until that happened going to come back on board? I ain't holding my breath! Rolling Eyes

That was my call before mcglynn returned to the club.

I honestly think this board will approach mcpake. Not good. Massive rebuild job ahead both on and off the park.

If Levein is advising the club I would reckon it will be Naismith and Berra as player assistant manager, or maybe he is looking to get back in and is taking the reigns himself. I would love something that would lift the club and something a big different such as Kevin Thomson and Si Ferry as his assistant.

On the basis that Ferry is an idiot, no.
