Thanks for the link, RZ.
I didn't perceive any criticism of his former charges in his Falkirk interview, just a comment about footballers in general. He's obviously impressed with the stadium (except for the pitch !) and sees it as a step up from SP, even things like being able to do the team's warm-up internally before going out for the game..
JMcG seemed energised and had renewed enthusiasm and ,perhaps, some were right in thinking he and Smudger felt that they had taken Raith about as far as they could.
The larger fan base is something that he relishes.
I would like to wish them well .....but it's Falkirk, so that's a stumbling block for me!
What is worrying is something that most of us are fretting about already, namely that, clearly, other management teams and agents are very active in pursuing players, whilst we are still searching for a manager.

I have to agree about the facilities at Falkirk, they're top notch and something we'll be very unlikely to match at Starks Park.

Didn't think there was anything accusatory in the interview at all. All very standard to every managerial interview.

Am I right in thinking that it was the council or some other body that paid for the stadium?

‘‘Tis a good stadium although I have no idea about the inside facilities other than the bogs. Laughing
If I wiz a tech whiz ah could find out ......but am strictly limited to only the “ must know” keys.

According to the fount of all knowledge, Wikipedia, the stadium was built in partnership with the local council and Falkirk FC. Total of £3.1 million from Council and similar from Falkirk after the sale of Brokenville.

Thanks.
Shame we couldn’t strike up a deal with fife council.
There are a few big clubs ( Milan, inter / AC ) that ground share.

Similar sort of thing in Fife would be a great idea, particularly if there were “ add ons” that the general public could use.

Needs vision of course and getting that from councillors would probably be impossible. Their expertise is in the short term usually. Rolling Eyes

Pretty sure both Dundee clubs could live together. It can be done.

They never listened about the swimming pool.
Our town centre is dead. Who was it that allowed edge of town retail parks?

Who would not listen about traffic lights at Adam Smith.

Councillors ain’t gods.....that I know Rolling Eyes Wink
Rant over. Embarassed

My belief is that Falkirks stadium is owned, run and manged by Falkirk Council

Dont see what benefit us hooking up with Fife Council, besides i,d much rather they sorted the craters in our roads first Laughing

Regarding the Dundee clubs living together happily, aint going to happen or it would have done a long time ago.

Last I heard Dundee were looking to sell up and build a new stadium

According to Mathew Elder in the Scotsman, Benny on the brink of signing for the Pars. He has been offered more than Falkirk and ourselves. I would imagine a 2 or 3 year deal. Played with Mcpake at Dundee.

IF true......we have unloaded a problem and they have up-loaded 1 Rolling Eyes

Our goals conceded column last season was poor, particularly during the last 10/15 mins of matches.
Too my mind that is either down to a lack of fitness and/ or desire.
Having him and an over the hill centre back in the middle was a colossal error of judgement. By no means are/ were the only culprits but there was certainly not enough leadership shown OR enough respect from their fellow players.
Our keeper was the best keeper we have had for a long while but he needed help which often was not forthcoming.

It’s a team game, this season is gonna see a fitter team, that’s for sure.
That said, the mind has to be sharp because it governs Everything.

Confused

Agree. I think we had the best of Bene and a move would suit both club and player. A good servant but, we need a change in CD. The only time it looked strong was the time Bene was injured and Lang & Berra played there.

That's very true and something that will need to be addressed this season.

Pleased to see him getting quite a few plaudits on the other channel for how he's turned the Bairns around in a short time.
That's the blue touch paper lit so now time to put on the hard hat and await incoming flak 😲

It's what he tends to do though, gathers momentum but mainly in league one. He tends to struggle in the Championship once other teams understand his tactics. Although i'm glad he's no longer our manager, i hope he wins promotion at the expense of Dunfermline.
