Win the next two games and a lot of this will be on the back burner, especially if Thistle lose tonight 😌
I still live in hope.
And if we lose the next two games, what then? Still think the management team deserve to be there next season? Don't get me wrong, I would love to see us win the next four games and I would love to see us in the playoffs but right now, I can't see that happening.

Despite everything I'm trying to put a positive spin on the games.
I get accused quite a lot for being too negative.
If we lose the next two or three or even four at least we are still in the Championship. Something I'd have been happy to accept before this season started.
Not satisfied with recent run of form but that's the way it goes sometimes in football.
As the title of John Litster's book proclaims...
"Always Next Season".
Whether that's under the tutelage of John McGlynn and Smudger that's for the board to decide.
Alternatively let the fans decide by giving everyone who is a shareholder or season ticket holder and all turning up and paying at the gate a voting form. That should satisfy the majority of the masses.

Make your mind up. Is it a guffy cup or is it high that JM can leave on? It's not that McGlynn has taken the club as far as he can, it is the club that has taken McGlynn as far as it can. Three times in the last twenty years we have been relegated into League One and not one of those failures was when McGlynn was at the helm. Twice though he has came along and dragged us out of those messes. Now after a season where he has disgracefully allowed us to probably finish fifth some of us are essentially wanting him dismissed. Fifth in a league, and granted I can only speculate on this, where I reckon at least four other clubs had a bigger budget than us. Meanwhile the only team to beat us in any cup competition this season was Celtic. Our ability to not to lose to our peers, or lower league opposition or Aberdeen has brought much needed revenue into the club.
Every season my goals are to comfortably avoid relegation from the Championship and not to be embarrassed in any of the cups. So while I'm disappointed that we will likely not make the playoffs for me that was always a hope and not an expectation.
Now if John McGlynn was to be in charge for the next two seasons and we continued to only scrape a mid table finish (oh the indignity!) then maybe I'd concede that it is time to take a gamble and try someone else but for me McGlynn has a bit more credit in the bank than one slightly underwhelming league campaign.

I am not sure as to exactly how low you want to set your bar!!

I wanna watch a team playing GOOD football, we have had 1 season of that and maybe half this season.

Excuses for failure abound.
You might be happy to languish in the second tier, myself and some others are not.
Off his great success ‘s, ONE league win was AWARDED NOT WON, and 1 did day cup was also AWARDED and NOT WON.
I pray the board see the light.
Otherwise....we will continue to stagnate. Rolling Eyes

Cuparman, I hate to think what your posts would have been like if you were a fan of the Pars or Falkirk.
A change of management team by no means guarantees success.
Wanting to give guys who have had success, a further opportunity , does not equate to a lack of ambition.

JMcG’s line of credit has expired. To be afraid to change managers because “who is available” is silly, because you can get a successful manager from another club, you don’t have to hire off the street. The Rovers are, despite efforts by the BoD in Jan/Feb, a reasonably attractive job, with a decent fan base, and potential for a younger manager to prove his worth. In much the same way we try to develop talent and sell it on, that’s how our management role is likely to be filled. Sorry, but we’re not the big boys who can retain a highly talented manager, but we can attract someone…so saying we should stand still after a terrible spell since December seems silly.

This

As well as JM has done for the club everyone has a shelflife and maybe his is close to expiry

Dont get this credit in the bank, football is a result driven business and quite frankly ours since early december last year is woeful.Just look at the table posted

You seem to forget that developing young talent is one of McGlynn and Smith's strengths.
Then give them that job.

Bingo. We need a manager going forward that can challenge the top of the Championship and potentially the Premiership. JMcG is to be applauded for getting us here, but seems unable to push us higher.

I agree that a change of management does not guarantee success.
Staying with this management team will more than likely result in much of the same.

We bottled last season, our record in play offs is not great by any stretch.
Football is a business and to move forward to have to change and adapt depending on circumstances.

Of all the years under JM we played HOOFBALL, then last season, the gaffer managed to get a squad together that COULD actually challenge for the title.
However, the team tailed off badly in the end.

Clubs have to have ambition and provide a QUALITY product to succeed.
Fans WANT to see good football. At the moment we have a team that RARELY if ever manages to perform for 90 minutes.

Players look up for it one week and hide the next.
Tactics seems to be an alien concept.
I believe, whether the players admit it or not, they are simply not following JM instructions .......WHY???.........someone please answer me that.

The diddy cup against the RANGERS.......that was worth winning and the celebrations were great. However, it still needs to be put into perspective.
Personally, had we beaten stenhousemuir in that final........it simply wouldn’t have felt such a big achievement.
If you want to run a successful business then you have to be prepared to take risks.
I do not expect another jimmy nichol era, but I do want to see good pass n move football, some good goals and to end up winning a good percentage of games.
And a TEAM willing to perform and give 100%.
IMO, that’s not what I am watching atm.

We did not bottle last season. We got to the playoffs. Put the Pars out then lost one game to Dundee and beat them in the other but just not by enough. It could really have gone either way.
We certainly didn't bottle it.

We needed TWO points from last 2league games to guarantee 2nd place.....we didn’t get them.
Thus we ended up having to play 4 games instead of the better situation of only having to play 2 games along with the advantage that the runner up team got.
I think we bottled it coz we didn’t get the 2points out of possible 6.
As usual, it depends on how you look at it.

Would you rather be a Falkirk fan? Missed out on promotion due to the covid decision made to promote us. Now they are struggling and a shadow of their former selves. That could have been us….stuck in the seaside league..however, not only did we gain promotion we performed way above expectations with a fantastic passing brand of football. All under mcglynn. The second half of this season has been hugely disappointing but if mcglynn got us playing and winning last season then surely he should be allowed the chance to do so again. I’m not sure what some false expectations are but when we’re in league one did anyone think we would be challenging last season and fighting for play offs this season? I, for one, would have laughed at you if you did.

But we,re not Falkirk fans

Weakest Championship in a while so aye expected top 4 spot.

Bet after the first 15 games or so many if not most would have been thinking we,d a chance of winning it

Two football cliches come to mind

1. Its a results driven business
2. You're only as good as your last result (or your last 15)

Sorry but that second half record speaks for itself. We play like that next season then we might make the playoffs again, but it will be the relegation one.

Who do you suggest we bring in as a replacement?
