Matthews' energy in midfield will be a miss, but the others weren't in the best of form anyway. Fingers crossed this patchwork side puts in a performance, although if we're going to win, I reckon it's more likely to be 1-0 than 6-4.... |
Well, it wasn't 6-4, unless I missed 9 goals along the way.....
We were well worth our half tine lead - indeed, it should have been more. But the second half showed why QOS will likely be in League One next season, and why we will remain a Championship side. It was, as has already been stated, a tough watch |

Some people are never happy even though we win away from home. |

That sort of resolve not to concede goals is what is needed for the rest of the season.
Poplatnik's goal had shades of Gordon Daziel's in the Cup Final ........except that Matej required two attempts to find the net!
Let's hope that the majority of the squad will have recovered for Saturday's showdown. I was a bit concerned to hear that Brad Spencer
has picked up an injury to his foot🧐
PS Who would have thought that we would see the words '' Happy Days'' on this Forum ! |

It reminds me of a drink I used to enjoy not what's on offer just now although it's improving. |

Aye HD. A "Happy Day" was made with a Fowlers wee heavy and a half pint. I had many of those in my youth. I was then introduced to a "Happier day" which was a Fowlers wee heavy and a bottle of Double Century, or a DC as it was known. The DC had more alcohol content than the half pint, thus the name"Happier Day".
Happy Days indeed. |

Why did we have so many players missing and a limited bench? |

To save me typing it out, WB, (as it's quite a list !) I suggest you view JMcG's post-match interview.
Why have we not heard more from Raith 2020 ? Matej played for 82 minutes and scored! Very odd 🤔 |

Raith 2020 is probably still sleeping off his 80 min stint yesterday |

Or perhaps basking in the glory of scoring the game's only goal?
Just a thought. 🤔😊 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Gritty and committed performance, showed a lot more fight than of late.
Jamma had a good game as did Bene, the rest at the back started poorly but all came onto their game in the second half. With Musonda and Mackie I'd put it down to rustiness but Berra looked way off it first half, hesitant, waiting for the ball to bounce and mistiming headers, he looked far more confident in the 2nd half. Connolly and Williamson were fully committed but Stanton is a Rolls Royce in that midfield, he'll be great with Spencer when he's back but if we still had Hendry what an engine room that'd be! Up top Matej gave us everything he had as did Varian, Gullan was throwing himself into everything it was a shame that caused his injury.
Not sure Matej in the middle and Varian out wide is the best way to go (I'd swap that pair) but it got the result.
We were understrength and far from great but we were better than QotS who I thought were stinking. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Easton 6, Gullan 6, Stanton 4, Dick 3, Vaughan 3, Brown 2, Connell 2, McBride 2, Frederiksen 1, OG 1. |

I remember him saying that he bumped into Poplatnik after a game - that he seemed a nice bloke - unless he bumped into the bathroom mirror! |

Did you not know he has a twin brother?
I believe he's also known as Poplatnik🤫😉 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Then that twin does need to be in the team too! Pops 'n Pops - to pop some balls into the onion-bag! JMcG would also get the "Pick of the Pops" (for those of a certain vintage). Okay - now where's my coat? |

Raith2020 has not responded to all that badinage !
Maybe he has succumbed to that bug that is going round (not Covid ) and even affected some Raith players.
We are concerned Raith2020, please let us know that you are ok .....and the vital question:- will Matej start against ICT ? |
