I think we were all aware it was a make shift defence but it was pretty torrid at times. Whilst not expecting complete solidity in the circumstances the defending at times was very poor for players at this level. They were all over the place. Passes were going astray frequently in the first half and we definitely rode our luck only going in level at HT. Criticism was warranted for the first half display as they were so far off it.
However the second half after sixty minutes, or thereabouts, was a complete transition. Apart from one substitution all the others who were poor in the first half suddenly came on to a game with the change of formation and we were excellent thereafter. The manager in his post match interview acknowledges that we were poor in the first half and it was only the sub and change of formation that turned things around .
Nonetheless well done to everyone for getting the job done and the goals were all well taken, none more so than the last one.😊
When there are only three knock out cup trophies available at national level and your club wins one of them it's definitely something to be very proud of no matter which teams are in it. I bet there are many fans of other clubs wishing secretly they had been watching their team winning the cup today.
So once again well done everyone for all your efforts today in retrieving the game and collecting the silverware. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Delighted for Matej he had a fine game at Arbroath last week and had an even better performance today with a couple of terrific headers.
On the defence I was surprised that we started with Dick in central defence with a bonafide centre half in Mackay on the bench. Presumably Berra was there only for a medal as he took no part in the warm up.
It wasnt pretty at times and yes we rode our luck .... alot .... but over the piece Queens failure to convert their chances came back to haunt them.
Great scenes at full time as a reminder of what RRFC is all about. Great to see. |

Another Cup Final Win, not many fans cof most football clubs can say thats.
We all agree we were well off the mark in the first half, but took a deserved lead only for Queens to hit the woodwork three times ad some great saves and some last ditch tackles etc.
Goodness we were up against it with injuries and suspensions BUT we overcame all this to WIN the Cup.
QoS played a lot better football, by comparison we were cumbersome and our passing was horrendous at times, resorting to hoofing the ball anywhere. Our diabolical defending, especially head tennis no Rovers players in particular is laughable.
BUT we won the CUP |

Very restrained of you Raith 2020! Not even mentioning that Matej was MOTM.
The form Matej is in, he may yet meet that 15 goal mark this season that Raith 2020 forecast!
The team gave us more than a few nervous minutes but what an exciting game and we scored three memorable goals.
A great day to be a supporter of The Mighty Rovers !
Congratulations to JMcG ,Smudger and all connected with Raith.
It was a fine touch ensuring that Lewie received a medal, too. |

Well done and thanks to John Mcglynn and the whole Raith Rovers squad, your fight and determination today has filled us all with long missed pride, emotion and happiness. Matej Poplatnik your name will be celebrated forever within the whole Kirkcaldy community and beyond, a hero forever.
What a fantastic day I’m once again proud to be a Rovers fan.
Bring on the Pars and the rest. Onwards and upwards! |

A great day out - all said already above although I think the critics of the Defense have not mentioned Frankie who was immense first and second halves. Also Stanton works hard and as said everyone did their part today.
Special mention to the half time entertainment. A joy to watch and a demonstration of just how hard it is to score. Maybe this wasn’t covered on the telly but just hilarious. _________________ Here Wee go again |

Although we looked pretty dangerous going forward and Magic scored a great goal from a sublime cross from Tumilty we were so far out of it in the 1st half. it was frightening.Formation in the 1st half and possible team selection was all wrong. Why do we give the opposition so much time on the ball?
Second half much better and more so when Zanatta came on,gave us more width and midfield a lease life
Magic Poptlatnik was well.......just magic!
Well done to the players and management now lets try and get the last play off spot
Great win, great atmosphere and great day out
Ps,another poor referee _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

I'm going to disagree with you Vinnie as far as the ref is concerned.
Watching on tele I didn't think that the ref was too bad at all. He could easily have double yellow carded Sean Mackie for poor tackles. Plenty of others intent on making a name for themselves and wanting to be seen probably would have.
I thought he tried hard to let the game flow and did nothing to bring attention on himself. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Shows what a bit of belief in someone can do - I am just so pleased for the club, for us the fans and especially for Matej 👏🏻👏🏻🏆 |

Well within your rights to disagree embow
Agree he tried to let the game flow but a number of challenges that merited a booking went unpunishment especially the one one on Poplatnik where the defender led with his elbow,it could have merited a red never mind a yellow, neither
I know its not the refs fault and they are only following SFA directive or whatever but booking players for taking the shirt off and celebrating with theie own supporters really grinds my gears _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Vinnie don't know if you were there or not but in the 1st half we were up against quite a strong wind which didn't help. I agree we scored against the run of play in the 1st half but we were never any worse than they were. Second half agree with the sub made all the difference. Just a wee passing thought though see what happens when the clocks change.
I thought the support today at the final was tremendous well done to all of us that travelled through. |

The rule whereby the referee books a player removes their shirt stems from revealing messages on t-shirts underneath, I don't see a problem as long as there is no 'message'.
The ref was very lenient in his approach to players celebrating with fans, as happened every time we scored, no player was sanctioned for what our Home Secretary calls 'mingling' _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |
