No conspiracy, it's on the website.

Quote:
On February 4th 2022 it was announced that Kieran had joined Lowland League side Bo'ness United on loan until the end of the 2021-22 season to gain match experience with the Newtown Park side.

Edited to add, according to the club Tweet, it should read 4th March.

Bo’ness supporter “in the know” reports that Mitchell suffered a hip injury and was adjudged to need rest. Still possible he might show up for Bo’ness if they make the semi’s, but unlikely.

Came back to play for Bo’ness in the semi-final Saturday vs the Shire…and plonked in the winning goal!

More people going out than coming in. The loan is obviously to try to get him back to where he was - but it's for the whole season. My gut feeling is that we haven't seen the last of our woes of not having an out-and-out striker. Not yet anyway. I'm not saying we are not gradually improving - but nowhere near free-scoring either.

If, and it's a big if (about 6'8" possibly) a certain striker is to sign for us, are all these leaving the club to free up the finances for him, if so he must be on a fair whack.
Assume Rose will be paying a bit of Mitchells wages, Goodwillie is away, perhaps someone with deep pockets took the hit and offered him a lump sum to go and save a wage , Agnew is away but no word of him going to Bayview yet.
Either we are well skint or this new lad must be commanding some fee.

All speculation of course, my mind does have a habit of going off and doing its own thing these days Rolling Eyes

If this is going to be a transition season.... and that appears to be where we are..... I'd prefer we held our youngsters at the club and developed them here.

Dont tell me Mitchell couldn't do what we have brought McBride in to do for example.

But are we willing to do that? Most of our youngsters are only signed through seasons end. McNeil is the only one with another year to go, of all the youth on the squad. As I understand it, that means all the young players could be approached by other teams come December, so you best decide who is in the future fast.

I agree with NR. Lads like Mitchell and Arnott do not come along all that often, and whilst I accept it is good for them to get game time, we at least ought to have extended their contract for another 12 months before putting them out on loan. I think they are both worth that small risk, and both could come back without being poached and do a really good job for us. Having said all that, I agree with NR that Mitchell at least should have been given the same chance as Coulson and remained with the squad.

I wonder what IM’s sees between Mitchell and Coulson? Coulson got a little time in half a season at Cowden last year, Mitchell got about nine games at Bo’ness last year, a level below Coulson. Mitchell was more successful, but IM seems to feel Coulson is more ready. Perhaps IM felt he couldn’t give both opportunities this season, so elected to pick his favorite of the two to develop quickly to keep, and loan the other for development?

On that note, don’t forget Young is loaned to Elgin, doing well, and starting half or more of the matches, and is also out of contract at years end…seems like we are not extending anyone yet…I hope it doesn’t bite us.
