My grandfather, mother and some of her siblings worked for Nairns.
My mother went from weaving to emigrating to Oldham to manufacture shells for the war effort.
She went back to Nairns in the mid sixties until it's demise and transferred to to GEC making another 'loom' which was for telephone exchanges.
She worked like a Trojan to provide for our family and it was a relief when she retired in 1983 and was able to put her feet up. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |
