We've got McGinn, Super John McGinn. The heartbeat of this Scotland team.
SC managed to surprise most of us, by starting with neither off-form ex-Rover Kevin Nisbet nor newbie Jacob
Brown. Instead ,he played Stuart Armstrong, a player he really likes, and he linked well with Robbo and KT, although
his shooting was not at its best.
Nathan Patterson had a game to remember, Craig Gordon made a couple of crucial saves but a special mention for KT.
He was determined that no-one was going to beat him to the loose ball after the penalty save and it's that type of commitment which is needed if we are to make the World Cup Finals.

Good assessment.

Unlucky not to win by more and despite the "Classic Scotland" penalty moment, we had a comfortable win instead of just a lucky or an undeserved win! Still - the latter prop us up in this campaign and shows more grit than in the games of the past - unlucky or undeserved defeats.

I haven't done my homework on the technical workings of what happens next, but I as I interpret it, if we get at least a draw against Denmark, that we then should get a home game in the play-off. I guess a defeat would mean we get an away game.

Denmark have won every game so far - and will look to finish with that 100% record. Until last night, Denmark had not conceded a single goal in the campaign. That was ended by the wee Faroes! Let's hope
"Wee Scotland" can do even bigger, better damage on Monday! I would take 0-0, but a win would be the icing on the cake!

I would normally love for us to go all out for victory v Denmark but we have eight guys one booking from missing play off semi including Robertson, Gilmour, McGinn, Adams, McTominay..All combative type players and all would be missed in any play off. Catch22 situation

Was having the same thought last night. If it was down to me, rest the players on bookings so as they available for playoff. I'm assuming they cards get reset after group completion?

Iím not 100% but imagine that would be the case so no issues should we make a final!...

I would be very surprised if more than two of the players at risk are not in the starting eleven. The chance of being seeded and a home game at Hampden is too huge a double incentive not to play our strongest team.
SC could decide to play only one of Scott McTominay and Jack Hendry in his back three, since they are both one yellow away from suspension ( probably one reason for Liam Cooper keeping his place)
We may play with only one striker , Lyndon Dykes. Even then, it depends how the game is going for Nisbet or Brown to come on, rather that Che Adams.
The rest will play, I suspect. I would imagine that a fair number of the teams to be/or likely to be involved in the Play-offs ,will have a number of players walking a similar tight walk, or have already had players out.
This is a situation we will continue to face in the semi (ie maybe losing players for the final Play-off ). It's tough when compared to eg the Champions League ,where suspension kicks in after three games, as I recall.

I think it's ridiculous that 2 bookings is enough to earn you a suspension in the qualifiers at all. But when you take into account that half of the teams have to play 10 games and the others only play 8 then there's 25% more chance / time for those 6 team group team's players to pick up bookings.
Add in the two play-off games and that makes 12 games for a quarter of the sides finishing runners up to negotiate without players transgressing more than once.

Top 5 groups have a slight advantage here but surely it would be better if they reset the clock for the play offs.

Some first half from Scotland, 1-0 and Denmark are definitely rattled.

I'm struggling with the fact that this is Scotland.
Where has that performance come from?
Chalk and cheese from the usual guff these last twenty years.
Absolutely fabulous first half.
Same again please if possible.😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I've never been so excited about Scotland since 1998 World Cup opener v Brazil! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😀😀😀

Ma gusset is well drookit after that. What a performance. Just hope that we get a decent opposition draw in the playoff.
