Had to wait two days to pinch myself for absolute verification of what happened here.

Rovers AND Scotland posting victories on the same day!

Now that's been a long time coming Shocked Shocked

Three Rovers / Scotland double bills - six wins, but they don't come much tenser or bigger than this one. Roller-coaster-alright!

Apparently not as rare as most of us think.😊

Neil, I wish that you hadn't reminded me that we had thrown it away , not just once but twice against Georgia 😖
After the first time, I, and most others, thought that, surely, we would have learnt our lesson and make sure that they could not live with us- wrong , oh so wrong 😡
SC has done his bit by reminding the squad that we are never far from a crisis, but the players must be 100% switched on from the first minute until the final whistle goes.
Not sure how many changes there will be and how much the team will be freshened up. Hanley is a certainty and I suspect SC will keep faith with McTominay, and keeping him in defence at the expense of Hendry.
Adams is out injured, with Christie most likely to continue from Saturday, with Nisbet a less likely possibility. He might come on later though, or Fraser, depending on the needs of the team at that time.
Billy Gilmour will have to be assessed after his cramp and the fast-turn around , but SC would be a brave man to take Gilmour out of his starting eleven.
I'm hoping that it will be the Faroese who will find playing again so soon too much to ask of their bodies and minds.
Fingers crossed that this will be less stressful than the weekend, but, it's Scotland , so in the end any win will do!!

Apologies for the scepticism Franco Embarassed Very Happy - That said, the local evening paper here quoted Clarke and Hendry. From what I can see, they and the whole squad are determined to leave nothing to chance against the Faroes or Moldova!
In fact they mentioned the sheer physicality of the former and the state of their pitch as obstacles to be realistic about. There was also mention of outright determination not to throw away what they had already worked so very hard to carve out. I think with that mentality, they will win the next two games.

Oh Dear Neil. It appears I am wrong again Embarassed Embarassed

In fairness, I am very old, and the 32 days between the 7th September and the 9th of October did seem a long time apart for me ????? Confused Confused

I have chastised myself thoroughly, and had my name taken before appearing in front of the CO. I shall endeavour to be more factual in future. Please AGAIN all, accept my sincere apologies.

Very Happy Very Happy I am proficient and experienced at jumping in and kicking a hornets' nests on here without doing my homework first! I just happened to tune into all six this time! Not sure anyone cared too much on the 4th - but the 7th was well worth tuning into! Can't help wishing I had put a couple of quid on all six wins, so I would now have been able to quit my job! Embarassed Wink

Back to the usual Scotland guff as was to expected to be honest.
Looking back over previous qualifying games in this group we really are fortunate to be in the position we are currently in. Scrappy penalty v Austria. 95th sclaff in the last match. 1-0 struggle at home to Moldova etc etc.
It's the Scotland way and has been for many years.

Yet again horrendously unconvincing.

Moldova away will be another mountain to climb when really it shouldn't be in the greater scheme of things.

I bet you Stevie C won't see it that way in his "euphoric" post match interviews 😕
We'll be told that they are a great squad who never give up, scrap to the final whistle etc, etc. Ad nauseum. In reality we have a bunch of journeymen bar a few exceptions who will most likely be found out in the play offs against moderately reasonable opposition.

We all thought we'd be fouid at by Serbia in the last play off as well.
Tonight we did elalmost exactly what the Danish managed to do. Scrape a late winning goal against the Faroes. It wasn't pretty but the Israelis and Austrians would love to be on our position.
