It has always been tight between Scotland and Israel. We have home advantage - and fans - in a must-win game.
You would hope that the Faroe Isles would press Austria. Then again, when the former played Denmark, I guess it was a Danish second string - never mind pride and politics having a bearing. Still, Denmark eventually won. Denmark didn't really need that win. They won other games! Austria will be a different story. It is a must-win game for them too. They will be feeling the pressure and will leave nothing to chance.
A win for Scotland tonight and hopefully the rest should take care of itself.
Who wants to face Denmark in a must-win game? Much better if both teams have nothing to lose by that time, so we could enjoy that game - and maybe even a result! |

Get back in the game from nowhere and immediately concede again.
What a bunch of............(insert whatever word or phrase you want!)😠
ETA it gets "worser' , Awful penalty from Dykes. That should be McGinn territory or even Gilmour.😠😠 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Back in the game again from nowhere and almost immediately concede a third.
Can they actually go on and pinch a win? Defensive frailties would suggest not but hey ho! You never know. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Oh ye of little faith!
Three Rovers / Scotland double bills - six wins, but they don't come much tenser or bigger than this one. Roller-coaster-alright! We go behind, level, behind again - missed penalty before half-time, equaliser announced, chalked off - then allowed again a few minutes later - by a referee less consistent than a politician - almost behind again a few minutes later - then the McGinn miss (yes, Willie Miller did call him John McGlynn, before correcting himself ) - then the grandiose conclusion! Phew!
We can relax on Tuesday, away to the Faroes --- can't we? TBC |

Outstanding 2nd half by Scotland. Robertson, Gilmour and tierney are on another level.
The boy McGinn is not too bad either.
Defending is a problem though. |

Cracking 2nd half from us and deserved 3pts! Opposite of 1st period where we were slow, methodical, indecisive… Dykes had a horror show of a 1st half, closely followed by Hendry but both made amends eventually!
Play-off almost achieved already though still a mountain to climb if we are to make Finals, but…keep finding that 2nd half level of intensity and desire and you just never know.. |

A classic rollercoaster of a ride at Hampden Park yesterday.
No-one , I venture, would have been surprised if any of Dykes, McTominay or Hendry had been subbed at half-time.
Yet, they all appear for the second half and redemption follows! |

Good point Franco! A lot to be said for loyaly in this case. At least Clarke knew that they were keen to make amends for their country - not always the case with players at club level.
Onto the Faroe Island tomorrow - important not to treat either this away game, or Moldova away, as formalities. Remember Georgia - not just once, but twice! It would be great to use those two games to build up confidence and the Denmark game to practice what they've learned - against the best - not to be looking to salvage something!
Come on boys! |
