I’m fine with the innocent until proven guilty thing just see no reason for them to make it up?
Same time, I don’t think the Slavia player told Kamara he was a “stupid guy” as he claims while Kamara and Zunga both say he called him a “F*****g monkey” Is he innocent too because it’s unlikely to be proven? |
Whilst I condemn all forms of racism, I also think with the incident at Ibrox, that the Slavia boy should be treated innocent until proven guilty. We are not judge and jury, it is for the appropriate authorities to investigate and deal with accordingly should it suffice. |

If we are talking about Todorov, I can't speak to his ethnicity but he is a Bulgarian national. I totally agree with your comments re racism, there is no place for it in our communities or our beloved game.
But what really hacks me off is fellow members of this forum who choose to ignore the bits of A.N.Others posts that do not fit with their own agendas.

I have taken the time to watch the incident several times and for as much as Davidson is a loose cannon, i think he was unlucky to be sent off. It is a standard aerial challenge with the ICT player making a meal of it. It all stemmed from the frustration of not been awarded a free kick involving Davidson seconds before. The only words i heard were " F****** acting C***", which to be fair, i agree with. Why did the ref not take action against the two ICT players who started pushing Davidson? If Davidson has used any other sort of language which is deemed inappropriate then fair enough. I've never had much sympathy for Davidson regarding his disciplinary record but, in this instance i think he has been unlucky as far as the challenge is concerned. |

Very surprised that nobody has seen fit to congratulate Iain on making 500 appearances for the Rovers.
Let me be the first in this thread under his name.
We all have different thoughts on the guy's game and that's a whole different discussion.
For any player in this day and age to have amassed 500 appearances is quite special.
No doubt it would have been more by now, but we're all aware of why not over the years.😉
One thing cannot be disputed in my opinion, Iain has always been in the thick of things for better or worse. 500 appearances is not a glib statistic.
I well remember Willie McNaught being given a guard of honour from visitors Dundee and the Rovers with an on pitch presentation for his 500th appearance.
Congratulations Davo on reaching the 500.
A milestone in the history of the club that is Raith Rovers FC. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Indeed Willie.
An excellent article that does a lot of justice to just how much Iain has meant to Raith Rovers 138 years history.
To be mentioned in the same sentence as Willie McNaught and Andy Young in this day and age takes some doing. Folk have to remember that it's much easier now to be sent off than ever it was in the past which hasn't always helped this hard tackling defender. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I echo these sentiments Embow.
Davidson has always been a favourite of mine - his commitment, drive and willingness to get involved on behalf of the team and club has, to me, epitomised what we, as fans, want from our players. I know his skill level has sometimes been questionable and occasionally his rashness and temperament has let him and the team down, but he has never been a dirty player, or one who didn’t try. As you say, in days gone by, many of the decisions that went against him would not have happened. Some of his sendings off and suspensions have been for bookings and second bookings. Some have been unfair, such as the one v Inverness recently (albeit, he compounded it in the aftermath due to frustration at what he felt was unfair) - and anyone in any doubt, look at the way Todorov came into the challenge looking to get the foul.
I know he has reached the latter stages of his playing days, but consider how he stepped in at the last minute on Saturday and played very well.
Many of our so called star, skilful players over the years could have benefited from having some of his enthusiasm, commitment and loyalty to the team/club.
The recent slagging of him by some of the posters are over the top and unfair. He has not received the various player of the year awards over the years, and reached this remarkable milestone of 500 appearances (especially having spent a season or two at Dundee), without having been a tremendous servant to the club. I for one, will sing his praises and congratulate him. _________________ He's no' hairy mary he's the Rovers' little fairy!

For me his skill level hasn't been the problem. Always found him to be technically very good with a nice range of passing ability. It is his temperament that has been the issue. Yeah forty years ago he would have been sent off a lot less but he isn't playing then he is playing now. The change in refereeing the game didn't happen overnight and catch the more exuberant players off guard. It's something he should have been able to temper and adapt his game to suit.
Appearances aren't the best indicator of quality either. Stevie Crawford earned more Scotland caps than the legendary Jimmy Johnstone despite the latter at one point being voted the third best player in the world.
Regardless 500 appearances is a significant milestone and Davidson deserves the recognition that comes with it and will surely warrant a place in the Hall of Fame. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

He was inducted in 2012, however, maybe he is due a special achievement award based on his appearances. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

I guess he had been at the club for eight years or so by then but it seems strange to have inducted a guy who would have been in his late twenties at the time and was still very much in his playing career. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

It's a great article on Davo and on Raith TV they were saying that they intended to shoot a long interview with him. Unless it is censured, I expect that to make very interesting viewing!
I had forgotten that he (despite being a local lad ) had first signed during the Claude Anelka bourach. How different it must seem under the current management and Board!
Yes, 500 games for one club : quite an achievement these days. |
