I've put my scunner behind me and just bought the Camelon v Brora game for a fiver, it might be the last Scottish Cup game for some time. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

I’m not saying steal the vaccines from 90year old women next in the line or that but there are millions of these vaccines kicking about now..
Premier league (England) clubs have already said they would donate all the money they spend on tests to the NHS if they get early vaccines.
Football, whether you like it or not is a keeping plenty folk sane through all this, I know I would be pulling my hair out without sport on TV right now so making sure it continues would be a good thing for the country as a whole.
Also, the government would be happy with top football players getting vaccinated as it might silence the online antivaxer keyboard warriors if world famous sporting stars were receiving it without complaint? |

For a change it isn’t!
Can’t see much wrong with idea except, as mentioned, people thinking they are jumping the queue a bit. |

Really!
There are many more who merit the vaccine before well paid elite footballers who remember seem quite happy to break the privileges given to them _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Players at this level should be healthy providing they stick to the rules, however, people will always take liberties, perhaps they should earn the right to be classed 'elite' by behaviour rather than which club they play for.
I’m not saying steal the vaccines from 90year old women next in the line or that but there are millions of these vaccines kicking about now..
I don't have parents or grandparents anymore, If I did, i would prefer they had the vaccine before me.
Premier league (England) clubs have already said they would donate all the money they spend on tests to the NHS if they get early vaccines.
This is entitlement off the scale, chuck on a dress just to get a seat on a Titanic lifeboat.
Football, whether you like it or not is a keeping plenty folk sane through all this, I know I would be pulling my hair out without sport on TV right now so making sure it continues would be a good thing for the country as a whole.
I have sympathy with this, however we cannot be diverted from seeking immunity from Covid, seeking another outlet/diversion may not be the answer, but surely it must help.
Also, the government would be happy with top football players getting vaccinated as it might silence the online antivaxer keyboard warriors if world famous sporting stars were receiving it without complaint? |
These people must be convinced that a vaccine is valid and will see us out of this awful situation. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

I don’t disagree with any of that however players aren’t robots without lives outwith training and playing matches..
They aren’t locked in a chamber at their club and released for training and games. Many aren’t self reliant on following safety measures as they live in same house as family/wives/partners/children. For every football player that makes an error with covid protocols, I bet you on the whole that the people they live with are making more!
I actually still don’t understand why the Scottish Cup was being allowed to go ahead last week anyway?! Can the likes of Fraserburgh v Banks’ O’ Dee be considered ‘elite’? The whole round was packed with junior/amateur/part time teams, no testing being done before they travel up and down the country, hardly conducive with restricting possibility to spread virus.
Anyway, I appreciate why people are against the suggestion but I still think it has several plus points |

Unfortunately there are not millions of doses of vaccine kicking about now, there are tens of millions ordered but these companies are producing vaccines for the population of the world (approx 7.6 billion), not just our wee island. NHS staff, care workers, elderly and vulnerable, blue light workers, even supermarket staff and those involved in the supply and distribution of food products to keep us going, oil & gas workers, are far more important than so called 'elite; footballers who seem happy to continue to break the rules. Let them kick their heels and wait their turn like the rest of us. One thing I have realised about watching games on the TV during this pandemic is that football is nothing without the fans there, so the players can damn well wait their turn until all the fans have been jabbed and can get back to watching live games. As to your last point, that is reasonable however only if they fall into at risk groups, how about seeing Fergie getting his or other 'stars', Dame Judy Dench perhaps or Maggie Smith, more relevant to a majority than some footballer. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Some club wanting it all to end.
Wonder which one?
Can think of a few, all with different reasons that would suit them.
Pity that boring nil- nil in Greenock tonight puts Morton into fourth place ahead of us.☹️ _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Clarification on the ICT rumour.
Quote: | In an email sent on Friday, he refers to one club having publicly called for a suspension of all football.
However, it appears Maxwell may have interpreted comments from manager John Robertson as an official endorsement from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The Highland club have told BBC Scotland they are not in favour of a temporary pause. |

Just beat me to it!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55684189
Only in Scottish football.
And again, only in Scottish football!
Lots of raging Dundee fans and Dundee officials if this is correct, as ref cancels game late on.
Today’s Scottish Championship fixture against Ayr United has been postponed.
After torrential rain overnight the club requested a pitch inspection at 10.30am this morning due to the distance required for Ayr to travel.
With no rain forecast the pitch was deemed playable by an SFA appointed referee after consultation by phone with the match referee.
Both sides had arrived at the Kilmac Stadium when match referee David Munro and his assistants checked the pitch and deemed one small section as unplayable and called the match off.
With both clubs asking for the match to be played we discussed the matter further with the league to request a delayed kick off and asked the referee for a short period of time for the ground staff to work on the pitch but this was refused.
Ultimately the referee’s hastily reached decision stood.
The club intends to raise this fiasco with the SPFL and SFA.' _________________ Talk on! Talk on!
