It's an absolute shambles.
The Holyrood Toon Cooncil stopping us from attending a home game, but we can travel to an English game with 50,000 others without any hassle. _________________ Dougie Hill

I'd be very surprised if the south of the Rio Tweed lot don't introduce something similar to Wales and Scotland before New Year. They have a tendency to be at the coo's tail when it comes to making the hard decisions for a whole variety of reasons.
I'm not for one minute saying that these decisions, wherever they're made, are the best ones but that's where we are.
I've been waiting for almost two years on the urgent list, no less, for a new hip but everything keeps getting shut down or put off, mainly due to the need for wards for other life threatening ops or simply because of staff shortages due to illness, mainly Covid. Currently now closed until February! Even the private hospitals are struggling to cope.
It's hard going at times but I just have to get on with things.

I can sympathise with you as my Dad waited ages on a hip replacement which was eventually done the night we humped the Pars 5-1.
I read recently that about 75% of the people in Covid wards are unvaccinated, therefore are more in need of hospital treatment and are consequently passing it on to hospital staff.
Shower of selfish, inconsiderate barstewards.
Hope you get sorted out soon.
My Dad is walking longer and better now than he's done for years. _________________ Dougie Hill

Because the selfish, self centred, money oriented minority don't give two hoots about the rest of us.
Anything to pander to the populist vote winning mentality of the buckfast swigging intelligentsia!
Country should of had a 2 week lockdown 3 weeks ago so that real people could enjoy Christmas with their families.
Can't upset the empty tin cans tho!
Wee Ginge is more like Bungle than she'd like us to believe.
As fans we would do what it took to help the club through a lockdown for a couple of weeks. As someone mentioned previously (sorry name escapes me) there is a £2.7 million covid fund sitting there, why is it not being used to help real folks not shareholders and ghost companies. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

With the omicron surge predicted to peak sometime in February I'm not too hopeful of these restrictions only lasting three weeks. Of course almost every nation in Europe is imposing new restrictions on their societies, many a lot more strict than was announced by the Scottish government. With the medical scientific community advising that something had to be done it would have been foolhardy for the powers that be too have ignored such guidance. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Sorry RZ, I see this nonsense on social media every time extra funding is mentioned and it is just that, nonsense. Totally debunked here in a FOI request.

It really should be a shocker, but in these times, nothing can be surprising any more. I feel that the SG are just trying to provide a deterrent rather than a rule to allow the events to decide what to do.
If the SPFL take this guidance and then insist on games going ahead under these conditions, at any level, it just proves that none of them have supporters best interests in mind. There are plenty of free midweeks in the coming months that would allow for a shut down until mid January for all leagues and to successfully rearrange the games in this period. |

Many thanks Cuparman and Specky Ginger for your kind sentiments but to be honest it's no great deal in the greater health scheme of things irrespective of where we are in the world.
It's not just in this country that things are deteriorating. No doubt in my mind it's getting worse before it gets better.

Detailed report tomorrow.
From Sky News but it’s the numbers we really need to see:
“Omicron is milder for most people - but UK will likely still see surge in hospital admissions - report
Government scientists are set to conclude the Omicron variant causes milder disease than Delta for most Britons, according to POLITICO's London Playbook.
Those who fall sick with Omicron are less likely to become severely ill than those who caught Delta, early data analysed by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) will reportedly suggest.
This is likely due to the large number of people vaccinated or previously infected, and possibly partly due to Omicron being intrinsically milder.
However, the UKHSA found this will still not be enough to avoid large numbers of hospital admissions because the variant is so transmissible.
The experts found evidence that for those who become severely ill, there is still a high chance of hospital admission and death.
Still, there is some more positive news. The UKHSA is also expected to say that while two doses of a vaccine are not enough, a booster dose significantly reduces the chance of both symptomatic infection and ending up in hospital.” _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |
