The gods must've been smiling on us today,

Thistle v United ending up a draw is, on balance, the best option 'bigger picture'. Effectively, after the week's footabll, it's all as you were after our win over United, and we go again.

Even Morton losing was good for us, as long as they re-double their efforts on Tuesday coming

Pars winning against an average Ayr side is neither here nor there as far as next Saturday is concerned - this last derby of the season was always going to be about them trying to save face, at least to a degree. After all, if we beat them again, we get to keep them, don't we?

Very much the case that second place is very much the least we should be expecting from this campaign....

....although parallels with and memories of our title battle some years back with Ayr United spring to mind, in that the two contenders back then seemed hell-bent on handing the trophy to the other team throughout the second half of that season as well. History repeating? And, if so, which way will it fall?

we cant be complacent here. there is only 7 point gap between 9th and 4th so teams have all to play for. every game is now a cup final

I'm still clinging to the hope that we'll see similar scenes as the last time we played Arbroath at home on the last day of the season.🤞🥹
Of course, that involves actually beating them which so far has been somewhat difficult and elusive.☹️

Agree with SDR - with an eye on 1st and 2nd spot, a draw today between PT and DU was the best possible outcome. Morton getting beaten added bonus.

Why do the Rovers do this to us?!

With Morton playing Utd on Tuesday I'd rather they weren't going into on the back of a defeat. Ultimately I don't think it's going to matter what other teams do or don't do now as I have little confidence in us doing what we need to do in our remaining matches. I hope my pessimistic viewpoint is way wide of the mark.

Think we're all feeling like that Castle so your not alone with those thoughts, maybe just maybe last night was the final wake up call to a lot of these players and management, the amount of points we've needlessly thrown away from winning positions this season so far, would have seen us with a good lead at the top......... but alas

Now, who's got the bottle to start the next match thread Laughing Laughing

After last night I doubt many of us are feeling too confident.

However, if Arabs fail to win on Tuesday and we can get a win in derby then we can wipe that Gayfield debacle to the back of the minds (for a wee while at least)

End to end stuff in the first 20 minutes, United coming close once in a wee stramash but Morton cleared.
