Early days, but hard to catch Dundee United on goal difference now. We could still beat them on points, if we keep up the good work and they have a slump.
Still - today's result at Firhill makes our result against DU look damn good! |

Yeah I'm not sure the Firhill result could be considered decent for us. The only team above is in the table winning isn't what I'd call positive unless , before the end of the first quarter, we are writing off our title chances? _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

It's more from my point of view that it keeps Partick further below us, (assuming we beat Arbroath when it gets played) and the darkside getting beat keeps them well away from us before we play them
Course it'll all change again in the coming weeks and if we cant pass Utd in the run in, 2nd is the best place to be |

I'm glad DUFC won today as i think they will win the league with a bit to spare. The result halts Partick in their tracks and is bound to have dented their confidence. I will be more than happy with a play off spot. |

If the level of ambition is to win the league the Arabs winning isn,t such a good result.A draw would have been better IMO _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

As we have experienced before, to have much chance of promotion we really need to come second. The amount of games that teams 3rd and 4th have to play is a huge factor.
We have a better and larger squad now, hopefully over the piece we can give it a real good try.
Cannot see Dundee Utd slipping up on many occasions, but stranger things can and do happen. Methinks we will have to at least beat them once and not lose any against them.
But as is oft said.....it’s a funny old game. All teams need some good luck. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

To the best of my knowledge,no 3rd of 4th placed have ever gone up. 2nd stands a much better chance and can at least rest up, prepare watch 3rd and 4th play without a game of their own to to focus on that week. Dundee prepared a plan against us, when that happened. Technically, the Premier League side could be better placed, but not neccessarily. If the Premier League side plays midweek in the last week, as they usually do and IF they have something to play for (like Killie v Dundee) then they are in a very similar position to 2nd top of the Championship. However, if they are already locked into 2nd bottom with nothing to play for, then they have a distinct advantage - they can afford to lose their last two games and focus on studying the two sides in the play-off (Like St Johnstone v Inverness). |

I look at it as DU starting to feel more confident and thus perhaps not looking for any action in the Christmas window. Might mean a couple of players that might have ended up there might go elsewhere, and if DU then get unlucky, they could stumble.
Edit: A ruthless DU management team would still try to hoover up all the top talent available in the window…but do they have the ruthless streak and the money? |

4-0 and 2-2 now.
United scoring for fun.
QP v Thistle might be good for us but only if we get the better of the Pars tomorrow.
Make that 5 now for United. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

5-0 after an hour?
Heard Dick complaining about most of his team just finishing work at teatime then having to play this game.
Take it some of them stayed on for some overtime and just gave the football a miss? |

Well, if we're going to win the league, it doesn't look like it will be on goal difference 😳 |

For the second time in 3 days, Morton are undone by the wee'est player on the park. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

Another poor result for Morton, game was pretty much a copy n’ paste from Tuesday for them.
If they can get those 2nd half performances consistently in to whole 90mins then I certainly wouldn’t be writing them off… might be attritional and unpretty on the eye but not easy to play against. |
