Stephen Glass is getting mentioned with his American connection with Cormack. Paul Hartley would surely be interested in the job as he is now settled in Aberdeen but I dont think he would be a contender.
Jim Goodwin will be in with a shout. |

Ach! They'll look south and entice Fergie back!😂
Seriously, it's a decent gig for someone to make their mark. Should be the third best club in Scotland probably although the Georgie Gargoyles would no doubt beg to differ. I'd put Hibs in fourth in case anyone is wondering.😉 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

A lot of fans here would seriously wish for that - you'd have to live here to believe that! Many still live in 1983 - even the ones who were not born then!

The arrogance and sense of entitlement here is completely different league from Gorgie - to be fair, the club and the team is too! Many Dons fans were unanimously spitting blood about McInnes when the team were absolutely
on fire. I have to listen to them. They seriously think that Aberdeen should have finished second this season and that their rightful place is at the top of the league and in the Champions League - (that would be interesting! )
Honestly, Derek McInnes was the best manager they had for many years and they won't find another like him. The Aberdeen job will be a hiding-to-nothing for whoever is naive enough to take it! There is just no pleasing the Aberdeen support. His sacking just sums up their expectations - on a par with our neighbours south of the border and their expectation of their national side!
Most days, the local papers here have about five pages on Aberdeen FC, most days and usually absolutely nothing about Cove Rangers, Peterhead or Highland League - even when they are playing.
I hope none of our ailing Championship rivals don't somehow land Derek McInnes! |

I went to a few Aberdeen games in the past couple of seasons, and to be honest they were pretty boring to watch. Didn't play a great style of football, and almost always folded like a hot cake against the Old Firm.
However, it will be interesting to see what the definition of success will be for the new manager. Finishing 2nd/3rd/4th is around the standard Aberdeen can realistically expect to aim for. Other than more silverware, I wouldn't really say Mcinnes statistics were particularly poor.
That said, we aren't the ones who have to watch it week in week out. The decision to sack him is only as good as the replacement. Similar to the Rovers under Grant Murray. Technically did a decent job, won a trophy and had some average league position finishes - however the football really wasnt' great, and brining in Mckinnon was the correct decision. Similar situation awaits the Dons, it's an absolutely crucial appointment given the big decision to remove Mcinnes. |

For me Aberdeen should be realistically aiming 3/4th every year. After Rangers died they should of won more than one single trophy, St Johnstone have won two during that time.
Apparently the brand of football on display is terrible and have only scored once in their last 9 games!!
McInnes has had some really good players at the club and has been forced to sell them which is the way of life. Out of the current team there must only be 4 or 5 who are decent. Possibly Lewis, Ferguson, Mccrorie, Hedges and Hayes. Cannot think of any others who jump out. |

He's had a few managerial posts - not much success at all though. Seems a strange appointment, given where they are and where they should want to be.
Still, we might suffer some "new manager bounce" from them when we go there! |

I thought he done well at Livingston, back to back promotions. That's been it really though. |
