Watching that play, you notice Matej calling for a pass, as they reach the Penalty Area, out front of the defender, but he pulls back neatly and allows Reghan to square the pass behind the defender as they reach the Goal Area. His finish was classically simple, and he didn’t try to turn the ball just inside the post to keep it away from the scrambling keeper, but trusted his simple shot to beat the keeper…quite possibly because of his success a few minutes before. This little result could pay big dividends in Matej’s confidence. |

Tx, I see that you neatly sidestepped my query, as skilfully as LV in the penalty box, but I agree with your post. Matej knocked the ball home with all the confidence of a striker who had just scored a goal minutes before that. I'm hoping to see him add goals to his game now. If Wiki is accurate, he has had spells in his career where he has scored loads of goals, although I'm unsure of the level of football at those times.
Reghan, though, just gets better and better and is a key player for us. JMcG and Smudger deserve credit for identifying him.
Embow, Davie Hancock could ask him , the next time he does a full interview with him ! ( Although, as you imply, we would only really have known if Matej had duffed the chance. Given that Reghan loves to have a go at scoring , he gets extra praise for making the pass ) |

Problem is, his primary role is as a defender, so no issues with your criticism, but JM needs decide what he is. No doubt he cost us at Parkhead by diving in and missing, so either he is an attacking full back or an out and out winger. If we are going with the attacking full back option for the majority of the season , McGlynn seriously needs to work on his defensive positioning in relation to his centre backs and GK and also how to position himself to prevent players coming inside him.
At the moment he is using his tremendous pace and engine to compensate for some of his errors but that wont see him through his career so he is going to have to learn the right way to defend _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Don't you think the solution was there on Saturday, with Tom Lang a third CB when out of possession, but moving across to RB, breleasing Tumilty forwards, when we had the ball? |

I'm sort of with you on this SDR, but the return of Musonda will give the management team a bit of a headache I guess? He is too good a player to leave out, but where to play him?
As for Reagan, I agree he has been an excellent find. |

That was my thought, but as with everything, it means someone elsewhere has to be dropped. A wonderful headache for the manager to have regardless |

Frankie will likely return as either a DM or a Sweeper. That probably sits Lang back down, but could sit Matthews, Spencer or Tait sometime too. Lang can probably spell Bene and Berra if they need a match off too. |
