Doing his normal as Hibees cruise at HT away to Livi.

I still find It hard wishing the lad well after the way we were stiffed in the nature of his departure.

With you there Scotty.

And how many times has this happened at the Rovers?

And worse, its happened with at least four players with the Darkside!

But, it takes two to tango. Yes, we gave him a chance, but was the no promotion escape clause the key to getting him to sign for us? Perhaps he wouldn’t have signed with us without that clause...

I suspect the most we ever might have got would have been a small buyout fee if he left because we weren’t promoted, but we’ll likely never know.

Integrity is the key.
I’m not caring so much worried about a self centred player Who after 3 seasons of Struggling failure Came and found his confidence and his touch with us, nor the fact that it appeared he decreasingly lost interest once the Pars started talking to him in the new year. I am bitter though about nature of the deal, both the club that offered us 2 gash players and a little cash (we refused) then laughed all the way to the bank when the Powers that be washed their hands on making a decision meaning we received nothing.
Yup that’s what rankles with me.

Don't wish any ill on the lad to be honest. He was a standout player in an otherwise dreadful side in a pretty dreadful season. He deserved his moves, good luck to him.

Agreed on that point, but don't you think it's fairly hysterical that pundits are already mentioning him in the context of the international squad? Or does that just reflect the poverty of options in a Griffiths-less Scotland set-up?

I think its the same as the Shankland debate last season, the country sees a young Scottish footballer scoring goals and given the absolute dearth of options available to us, links are made.

For me, give him a season in the top flight, see how he performs and after that make decisions. I don't believe Nisbet or Shankland are Scotland players because as a nation, we do not play a style to support either or both of them. Its very much one up front for Scotland and that player has to both be an out ball and have the ability to hold up play for the midfielders to laboriously make their way forward. Both Nisbet and Shankland, like Jordan Rhodes before them, are poachers really, their work is done in the penalty box, which for Scotland is rarely where the ball is

Rovers took the chance but only gave the laddie a one year deal, he done his job and battered them in game after game, he knew he could make the step up and got it put in his new contract he either moved up with the rovers or moved up on his own.
It's not his fault the defense was abysmal and cost us promotion, its a short career for players.
Stop sounding like a bitter wee lassie who got binned for her wee pal by her first love.
