I don't quite get the burning desire to be completely full time. This hybrid thing is much more sustainable in Scottish football I think.

There are arguments both ways. Having a single PT player seems unsustainable in the long-term, and the fact that our offer was insufficient to get him to convert to FT likely suggests he was leaving next year anyway. As a result of this move, we get compensation for him, so that’s a plus.

Obviously, the Accies and Killie will be offering him a more lucrative FT package than us of they want to sign him, and Alloa seem to need to replace Liam Dick on a PT side. Alloa’s plus is their location works well for KMac, so I would expect anyone taking him FT to be paying a pretty penny.

The fact he has stated he is leaving us and now other FT teams are linked to him, makes wonder if we have already agreed to rip up his contract, when we spoke to him a couple of months ago about going FT.

I would be surprised is Killie or accies spent any money, even of it is not much for him.

Technically (and legally) he's still under contract at the Rovers.
It'll largely depend on the wording of the contract in terms of part time / full time and mornings / evenings etc as to whether he can choose to terminate it, or whether the club can demand a fee.

Scottish Sun speculating that Killie are after Macca and Armstrong, having just signed free agent Euan Murray from the Pars.

“The duo were instrumental in helping John McGlynn’s Rovers to a third place finish before losing out in the play-off semi-final to James McPake’s side.

They have already revealed they won’t be staying at Stark’s Park and Killie are keen to land the pair.

Winger Armstrong took to social media to announce his departure last week.”

I dont really see that as a step up, however I suspect he is much closer to home and that may well be a factor in his choice of club.

Surely even on a part time deal with a year left on his contract we'll receive a small fee for this transfer
