You're possibly correct in the sense that free parking now would be like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
Tesco certainly blamed metered parking for its decision to vacate the town centre and it has been the domino effect from then on. _________________ Dougie Hill

The changes in retail are national not just a local issue. The he rise in retail parks is a factor and the advent of internet shopping is a death knell to global high st retail. In my opinion the demise of local industry and subsequent drop in disposable income is he biggest factor and you can probably name that as a cause in the demise of local pubs, clubs, cinema and to some degree our own football club.
It’s the March of time. _________________ Competitive goals: Easton 5, Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Well, how come when you go through Cowdenbeath their high street is about 10 times busier then Kirkcaldy? Is it the Gordon Brown effect. |

For a long time local councillors blocked Aldi from opening a store in the town (Cowdenbeath), as they regarded them an inferior brand.
Well, Aldi has been a popular store in the town for three years now and will shortly be joined by Lidl.
Imagine coming from Cowdenbeath and being a snob? _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

I'd imagine the snobbery emanates from the fact their chairman is a claret drinking Egyptologist. _________________ Dougie Hill

It was indeed, a Wolfman posted in April. Saw it yesterday (my time) while looking at the FFP to see if the Hendry news was anywhere. Tossed it out on the thread because of WJ’s comment. |
