I buy everything except food shopping online now.

Pros:
Not having to queue up behind idiots who wait till the last minute to dig into the bottom of their bags for a purse they could have found before they got served.

Not having to be barged about by ignoramuses.

Not having to stand for 5 minutes waiting to be served, only for them to open another checkout and halfwits who have only just joined the queue flee there so they don't have to wait.

Not having to put up with the smell of urine and worse in said queue from people of questionable hygiene.

Not having to pay to park.

Not having to gift said parking fee to a council that doesnt give a toss about Kirkcaldy.

Not having to get door dinged by twats in car parks.

Not having to get wet in the rain.

Not having to go clothes shopping with the wife!!!

Cons:

Job losses.

Cannot 'feel' the product before buying.

High Street is a derelict waste of time unless you want something from a charity shop.

Fife Council are 100% responsible. Charge for parking, where elsewhere it is free. Charge ridiculous fees for shops.
Best to just squeeze all the shops int the pedestrian zone. Turn the ends into housing where possible.

This project which is valued at around £50 million is the brainchild of a Fife Councillor.
He wants to construct a pier with two fantasy whales at the end of it to promote visitors to Leven.
Far be it for me to remark on his mental state, but I will, he is off his head, first if this gets off the ground, second if he can ignore projects throughout Fife which deserve the capital funds better.

Leven is an absolute $h1thole anyway. Better just to nuke the place and start again.

It's OK though as we get better women's football sponsorship.

Probably. I use the Boots at the retail park. Free parking right outside.

That High Street is as dead as a dead thing. If it wasn’t for the pubs and occasionally TK Maxx i’d have no cause to ever go there. I go to Dunelm on occasion too but that’s rare. Not sure that counts as the High Street.

Maybe it’ll be an Angel of the North type deal where the majority of the funding comes from the Lottery and other arts funding. Maybe they can build the much vaunted pier at Kirkcaldy as a BOGOF. Bound to happen.

It looks an absolute monstrosity.

It has failure written all over it, reminiscent of the old Lochgelly Town Council meeting where it was proposed to buy a gondola for the town loch, another councillor decided it would be better to buy two and try to get them to mate.

I use Boots at the retail park occasionally, but every time I'm in, there are more staff than customers. It will go in the next cull. Crying or Very sad

Sofology, while we're on the subject:- I've passed there a few times and yet to see a single customer in it.

I also use the High Street for card shops on occasion. There are four of them in The Mercat. We have quite a few jewellers shops too.

In other news (to me at least) The Postings is now The Kirkcaldy Centre. Not the most original name, but hey. You could still comfortably count the number of shops in there on one hand.

Apparently we are out of step with public opinion. Bring on the Leven whales...once they find £50 million. Also £50 million was just a guess. Could be £30 million could be £100 million. Doesn’t make the project any less viable.

I still think the train station would be a better option, but the public have spoken.
