One for the history books and re-telling the experience in many a year to come....hopefully! |
If I could just erase the first 85 minute from my memory I would agree with you. I came away on a massive high - no doubt. But then I remember that we could easily have been 4 or 5 down at half time...….and just how dire it was. |
I did say leave aside how we played.
Anyway 4 down at half-time would maybe have given us a draw.
Anyone old enough to remember the 4-4 at Killie way back in the late 60's/early 70's? _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Keith S why don't you go and support one of the two from Glasgow because to me you are not a rovers supporter and never will be. This is my opinion and whatever anyone says I will not change it as I have been reading your comments for a number of years and cannot remember you having a good word to say about the team, manager, board.
Scotty your listening to rumours about people coming back the man has a very good job in Glasgow and I don't think we will see him in Kirkcaldy soon. I would like to be wrong on that one but really don't see it.
Chris you jumped ship a tad early today. Spoke to young Michael today he seems to be keeping fine. |

another post on P&B copied interesting stats if true.
From the team that finished the game, 8 of them were Smiths signings (7 of his signings started the game).
After today, his record still shows that's he's dropped just 37 points out of 120. He's now won 24 out 40 games. For the best part of that, he's played this dreaded 4-4-2 formation. I'll agree that it's not been pretty, at times it's not worked and I'm sure we can all think of better styles and systems he can play. But how can anyone argue that he's still not doing his job as a manager and more importantly, hope that we actually lose so that he can be sacked?
I find it fascinating that some people can be so blinkered and have such an inability to accept that despite the fact that he's got over a 50% winning record in the league and his teams have managed to grind out results despite poor performances, you'd rather we lost today so he could be sacked and replaced by god knows who. _________________ now enjoying my fishing time, at peace with nature. but being a avid radio ham my global contacts have increased. any hams around call me lz2csk on 14200 or their aboyuts |

Didn't m,e the game today due to work.
Great result to win 3-4 & good to see Buchanan chip in.
Anyone know what Davo was actually sent off for, it just shows as violent conduct?
Is Bene & Mathews out injured as we would need to play McKay & Wedderburn at CB as Davo looks to receive a suspension _________________ Let's get right behind the Rovers!... |

Let's say the stewards had their work cut out getting folk back into the stand when the 3rd and 4th went in. _________________ Dougie Hill

Same old same old Zico...as you do with everyone who doesnt share your opinion. I posted this at 6.21 tonight on another thread.
"They have shown today that there is a team in there bursting to get out. "
And there absolutley is. Decent players don't turn into bad players just because they sign for us.
Further up this page I wrote this
"I came away on a massive high"
But just you keep on reading the bits that suit your agenda and ignoring the rest.......... |

Smith should still be sacked and Davo should follow him up the road once he has paid a fine of four weeks wages.
With a good manager Nisbit could be our Shankland this season.
Smith may turn out to be a decent scout but he's no gaffer. |
With you on your first two points
Cant comment on the game or performance as like many wasnt there but what a result.Watched the scores coming through and it was a case of a consolation goal, then, too little too late, then it was f****n hell yeeeessss
As much as a like Dsvidson as a player hes a liability and if theres anyway of us getting rid of him,we should. _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

‘Anyone old enough to remember the 4-4 at Killie way back in the late 60's/early 70's? Smile’
Unfortunately, I am that old. I was at a reserve game at Starks Park, in the days when the half time scores were put up by some bloke wandering around with numbers that he hung on hooks to the side of each goal. Around about 4.15 we were informed by this semaphore-like system that the first team were 4 0 up at Rugby Park. Great cheering followed from those at the reserve game, only to be severely deflated when the radio informed us, via James Alexander Gordon, at 5.05 pm that we’d turned victory into a 4 4 draw. Had hoped to forget that awfull day. Cheers |

Ah I see, you just wanted us to lose so that it would put pressure on the board... Think of the pressure that it's released that we won! The fact that we're now second top and baring down on Arbroath. If we'd lost we'd have been well off the top spot and we wouldn't have a manager... I like the sound of that much better.
Barry Smiths tactics seem to be doing awful well considering. His record speaks for itself. Maybe have a little look at how things have worked out; have we lost a game this season under these shocking tactics? Granted we've conceded a few more goals and dropped points at home to East Fife but his team, his tactics and his style of play haven't actually let him down so far so I don't see what all the fuss is about.
You're clearly just an angry cretin that needs to have something to slaver pish about or you'd end up internally combusting. The 10 men on the park were mostly his signings and are responding to his training and ethos. He made the changes today, got the messages on the pitch and his players delivered. By the sounds of it, he did his job today and got the result.
A win next weekend and you'll be even more seething. Brilliant. |
I guessed correctly the one and only Superhans , a prize pillock of the highest order. |

I was at that Killie game and I HAD the 4-4 Supporters Club draw ticket. But I did wish we had won after being 4-0 up until the cheating Tommy Mclean took a hand at the goal.
Anyway, with Keith S, and everyone else regarding the real Rovers players. |
