when I was a wee lad several decades ago and times were a bit hard my mum would sometimes make a pudding by making porridge with milk and sugar. but usually it was with salt and water for breakfast.
a few years ago I discovered that the co-op does a porridge and bran mix which I now have every morning (made with salt and water!). Taste and texture - magic! _________________ He's no' hairy mary he's the Rovers' little fairy!

Mixed with sausage meat and then put inside a skin.
Deep fry in batter then eat with salt, vinegar and sauce to taste.
McMillins were the tops!
