What chance of this happening?
If the richest can't cope what chance the lesser lights surviving?
Worrying times indeed. |
Bit premature, Embow.

Thanks Biggles.
Serves me right for just picking up on the somewhat sensational one line banner on the BBC News channel.
I really should question myself why I still watch anything 'newsy' on the Beeb these days!

If we get to do that here, can we ensure that conditions of ending the season results in Hearts being relegated regardless of their position and Falkirk being denied promotion. |

Millwall fans reverting to type?

Cant condone the Millwall fans booing the taking of the knee but for me this taking the knee by players/ clubs/ officials has had its day and time to call a halt to it. _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Once all lives are treated equally, fine...but let’s get there first. |

If all lives mattered then there wouldn't be these protests in the first place, the point is being made because clearly they do not all matter equally. Black Lives Matter is not "Only Black Lives Matter" or "Black Lives Matter more than others", which is what some people seem to incorrectly believe.
I'm all for players making this protest point because until something is actually done and all forms of racism and inequality are dealt with correctly, putting a halt to it now is the same as sweeping it under the carpet again, like every time before.
Anyone booing is part of the problem that needs eradicated from society and Millwall as a club just needs destroyed. Total scum. |

Thank you for the much more eloquent explanation. Football has been seeing racist incidents (bananas, monkey chants, etc.) for decades, and still does...which shows us the push is still necessary.
The best explanation I heard of the whole “BLM” issue was this: Imagine you attend a dinner party, and everyone is seated for dinner. Eight people receive plates of food and two get none. The two guests with no food ask the host if they shouldn’t get food too, and the host agrees that all guest deserve food, but does nothing to provide them any food.
The host is mouthing the equivalent of “All Lives Matter”. Driving around here (Texas), there are plenty of “White (or Black) Trucks Matter” signs on pickups with Confederate flags, “Back the Blue” and Trump stickers plastered all over them. These are people who are just happy that someone is below them in the pecking order and are outraged that some political types are trying to make “those people” equal to them...as long as they can look down on someone, they feel better about themselves.
The sad fact is over much of the world at least a small minority still harbour racist beliefs and will act upon them, but hopefully the world is slowly evolving to value all people equally...even if too slowly. |

You're entirely right, its a sad fact that has been ingrained through so many years that to revert it will take time, too much time in some cases.
I have no problem with peoples political beliefs or their right to those, but something is wrong if equality is not one of them.
Some good comments from the Colchester chairman about the boos received on Saturday too
