The biggest disgrace regarding publicity was the fife free press a local paper operated from Edinburgh.I was forever asking matt elder if there would be publicity for the stand up show in the hope of maybe getting some interviews done with the acts.I got neither and in the end I had to ask niall to speak to the press on my behalf in the hope of a different voice doing the asking.Do you know when I found the publicity was last night in a wee box on the gig page.It was that small I had missed it the previous 5 times I checked paper leading up till Friday. They even managed to get the info wrong with bad spellingon no mention of show time or ticket prices. Its no the first time that has happened to anything I have organised. |
I totally agree on your comments regarding the FFP. They no longer have any interest in accurate information or local people. The editor thinks he is running a tabloid and not a local paper, where factual information is actually important. Unfortunately he is to busy massaging his own ego on Twitter etc to care. The old saying is why let the truth get in the way of a good story, which is unfortunately now the standard of the local press. |

Regarding the press I did get an email to say that it had been mentioned in the paper but it so happened that was when the beast from the east arrived and everyone was snowed in.The next few weeks there was nothing at all until I found the info in last weeks paper. No times, cost of tickets, date or anything and no mention of the rovers just the raith rovers community foundation and the PAYER development fund.Anyway its in the past but in the future I will send all my stuff to the courier or no papers at all. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE
