Let me start this by stating that i think that RaithTV is the best of the club-run TV packages that I have seen in the Championship. The coverage over the lockdown season was second to none with fans of other teams jealous over the service they were providing to Raith fans.

BUT

I’m kinda getting the feeling that the interviews with the gaffer are unbelievably predictable and never really ask any probing questions. We let Keatings go, apparently for good reason. What about the update on a potential replacement? We’ve lost Fotheringham, surely now we’re close to the bone in terms of squad depth? I know we are out with the transfer window and the dates for loans has lapsed but is there any chance of any replacements at all? Free agents, trialists etc?

I just feel in general that I watch the interviews looking for a wee bit info and it seems if it’s a harder question to ask it doesn’t get asked. Is it just me?

Again, RaithTV do a great job and I’m delighted we have them. I just feel the interviews could maybe ask what’s going on with these issues.

Agreed, very vanilla interviews and I much prefer Davie's post match stuff but obviously we don't want to give our rivals too much information and Niall will probably be restricted in what he can ask. Nothing personal against Niall but I do feel Davies' interviews, in general, are the better of the two

Just watched the RaithTV Pitchside video.
Absolutely stunning. Way above the level you'd expect from folks who volunteer their services.
Has to be one of, if not, the best in Scottish football.
Take a bow everyone involved.👏👏👏👏👍👍

As usual I am out of kilter,
Davie, imo opines on things during the match when his time would be better spent on actual commentary.

Also, is there a measure of self congratulation going on. I may be wrong. But, as many on here opine on other teams output, how about a search of other clubs opinions on ours.
It IS A GOOD SERVICE WHICH I USE WEEKLY. THat however in itself does not make it great.
I would rather have it than not, that doesn’t, it itself, make it great. I wanna watch the footy and hear players names who are using the ball as opposed to OPINES.

THE CLOSER TO PRO COMMENTARY AS SKY/BT.....the happier I would be.

Please don’t have ago, its simply my opined view.

For those who can't get near Stark's on match day it's an absolute life saver. Every single comment I've read about Raith TV has always been very positive. Long may the service continue.

I agree. It is a life saver. It is a 180mile return journey for us and as many many people say, wellll. We ground it out or we were lucky or the silky footy was missing today.

Things rarely improve in any sphere of life without some constructive criticism.

I don’t know how many times the interviewer puts words in the person they are talking to, mouths.
You pose a question, then you wait for an answer.
You DO NOT say something like “ John, I thought such n such had a good game or any other thing like that.
That is called “ leading” and you have “ intimated “ YOUR thoughts instead of GETTING the managers thoughts.
You interview the subject and LET THEM TELL YOU. What they think.
As a teacher/instructor and examiner for decades, this IS the way you get THEIR opinions and not conflate there’s with yours.
TBH. I would be surprised if people would rather listen to the questioner ‘s opinion rather than the coach/ manager/player etc.

Considering (I think) that the TV Team are new to the game, they do not bad, that is not to say they cannot do it a bit better.

They HAVE come all long way from nowhere, BUT, this ain’t the end of the line.
I thank them for the service they provide and we get to keep in touch with Kirkcaldy through them .
People CHOOSE how much they want to learn. It comes with age and experience.
Sermon over. ( you will all be glad to hear).

You've loads of valid points Cuparman regarding RaithTV in general, not all I might agree with. But that's for another time
The sole reason I resurrected this thread was to praise the work put in to produce the Pitchside video from the Killie game. Nothing more than that.
It's a quality piece of filming and editing with no commentary but yet it manages (for me) to encapsulate fully the feeling of a very important three points and what that meant to players and fans alike on the day.

You are bang on there embow, it was like watching one of those expensive documentaries that the BBC or C4 do on smaller clubs. Kudos to the videographer but also huge kudos to the editor for putting such a good piece together, I can only assume they are in the process of learning this stuff at college or Uni or are already working in their respective fields.

Returning to Cuparmans comments, I have oft commented on Nialls interview technique and, whilst I appreciate his role is as media officer, interviewing or presenting is a skill, well taught and long learned, and one which I fear escapes him still, whereas I get Davies interview technique, questions are indeed questions or observations are phrased in such a way as to encourage comment. To be fair, ask McGlynn one question and he will go forever such is his passion and attention to detail, I have no doubt he could wax lyrical on the attributes of a corner flag for an hour.
I cannot comment on Davies commentating as I don't actually tune in, I did co-commentate with him on a game some years back at Forfar (the one where Hendry got injured) and to be fair, it was not easy because, as was the kit back then, I couldn't hear what he was saying and vice versa, that and the noise (yes really) in the stand. Such were my skills, I was not invited back Laughing
So I appreciate it is not an easy job, these guys are not the professionals you see on TV week in week out and the equipment to make them appear so is horrendously expensive but lets face it, they put an awful lot of clubs to shame.

Perhaps Cuparman could offer some free training to the guys, not taking the p1$$ here, I mean it, this is how small clubs like ours moves forwards, in fact anyone with media training, skills with operating or maintaining the equipment they use, offer your services, join the growing band of volunteers that help push the club forward in all that it does.

Disagree, like the current style of commentary...but will defend Cuparman’s right to opine (wrongly, I believe) to the death.

I have just watched the Pitchside video and it was excellent. Close up, high quality action with a sound track to make me feel I was actually there. A great piece of filming and editing. Very well done to all concerned.

One wee request. The live steam from the game lacks audio atmosphere. This was so very well captured in the pitch side video. Is there any way Raith TV can mix the audio from the Pitchside video crew into the live stream?

I do hope the Pitchside video becomes a regular feature after home games. I am too far away to get to Starks Park these days and this feature most definitely brought the atmosphere right into my Computer.

Well done again Raith TV for a great idea that was carried forward with professional consummate ease.

Would like to thank the Raith TV team for the fantastic service they provided especially during the lockdown days when we were locked out the ground. Provided a quality service that allowed us to watch the games

Again may I publicly thank everyone involved in any way whatsoever for their massive input to give all of us one of the best, if indeed not the best, media coverage a club at this level, and above, could ever ask for.
Huge thanks to you all.
I hope that you get the chance again to provide us all with your expertise sometime soon.
Indeed we all do, no matter where fans are to be found across the globe.

Its a crying shame that one of the best online streams in the leagues and the plaudits it has received from many fans of other clubs disappears due to the idiotic heirarchy at our club, it was a pleasure guys thank you so much for the time and effort you all have put into this
