Latest News, read all about it!
Raith Trust Burns Night 2016
The Raith Trust are delighted to announce the return of their popular Burns Night fundraiser.
Last year’s sold out event saw almost 150 attendees enjoy a great night of Burns with the traditional Burns Night Haggis, mixed with some great words from Val McDermid and a Q&A session with Jock McStay and Frank Connor and raised over £2,000 in funds which went to support Raith Rovers Football Club.
The 2016 Raith Trust Burns Night will take place on Saturday 23rd January at a different venue, the Victoria Hotel, 28 Victoria Rd, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1DS at 7pm.
Tam Dean Burn, renowned actor and writer has been confirmed as a speaker and there will be more to be confirmed and announced shortly.
There will be a 3 course Burns Night meal, the Big Burns Night Raffle, Auction, and many familiar faces reading Burns favourite poems.
Tickets cost £25 per person, with a £5 discount for Raith Trust members, and anyone wishing to book a table of ten, will be able to book a table for £200 – a £50 saving. Please note that we can only offer one of these savings with any purchase.
Tickets can be bought through the following methods…
Online – http://raithburns.brownpapertickets.com
At the Raith Trust table in the South Stand concourse before the matches v Alloa (26th December) and the cup tie v Hibs (9th January)

Thank you to everyone who came along on Saturday night, we had a great evening at the end of which no-one was talking about the Dumbarton game!
We had to cope with a last minute line-up issue after Val McDermid was taken ill (get well soon Val!) but were very fortunate to have two talented musicians in attendance. Cathryn and Dave from Big Night Out rose to the challenge, and Dave even missed the game at Starks Park so they could learn a Burns tune, and they did a fine job of "My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose" on the evening along with a few other Scottish tunes. And a rather colourful poem which may not have been written by Rabbie Burns...
Big thanks also to Aaron, Joel, Yaw and Andreas who came along initially to take part in a Q&A session, but volunteered to do a Burns poem. None of them are Scots speakers, obviously, and I'm not sure they understood a word of what they read out! They really entered into the spirit of the evening, though, and they are a credit to the club. Craig Easton was also very entertaining, talking passionately about his role at the club and revealing some rather strange stories about his time playing alongside Dave "Psycho" Bowman at Dundee United!
Thank you to all of the Trust members who stepped up to do a reading, and also to the staff at the Dean Park who made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. _________________ Follow the Trust on facebook and twitter |
