McGlynn was better than Murray, but not what we need in my book.

I think we need someone with absolutely no connection with Rovers. Someone who is going to come in and dispassionately assess what's there, and how to get the best out of it.

Whatever is done, it has to be done urgently, as Murray is being allowed to drag the club down into real danger.

GET RID ASAP, and forget about bringing back McGlynn.

This^

New broom, but whom?

Butcher would be my 1st choice (but out of our price range I fear)
Barry Smith (wants the St Mirren job)
Danny Lennon

Dont want.
McGlynn or Derek Adams,

I wouldn't have Butcher anywhere near Stark's Park.

Look what he done to Hibs last season. Would rather keep Murray than hire Butcher.

Plus Butcher has already had a stint at SP.

Best idea is to get Davy Sinclair in as defence coach. Never seen a Rovers defence so poorly organised and scared at marking up, closing down and most basic task of all .. tackling

He would be a brilliant motivator, that at least is certain, and he could boot his size 10s up the likes of Watson's backsides.

Getting someone like Sinky back in the dressing room in some role could only benefit us in my opinion. His love for the club, enthusiasm and no nonsense talking would get everyone fired up. The fans love him and relate to him and we all know the words to "Sinky, Sinky punch his p**s" a great Rovers song the whole of the South stand could sing out together. He could even get the Saturday night team pub crawl down the High Street back on, a team that drinks together, plays together.

How many times in the past decade or so have we bemoaned former playing favorites coming back as managers/coaches?

Personally I would like to see someone (anyone except Adams and Jeffries) with a fair bit of experience, come in till the end of the season, get some pride and passion back in the side, get us playing good football and being competitive again. Give them the remit of a top half finish with a view to extending the contract if it works for both sides.
But please, no former players who have no managerial experience!

I'm wasn't suggesting Sinky to come back as a manager or assistant. I just think we need someone about the dressing room that has a bit passion for Raith and who could help get the players fired up before they take to the pitch. Throw him in the dressing room next week and let him tell the players a few home truths, they won't fancy going back in at half time if they've no put a shift in.

I don't believe, in the main, that the squad of players we have is all that bad, I just don't think they have a clue what they should be doing due to poor coaching, tactics and a lack of inspiration from the management team.
I believe an experienced manager with no links to the club needs to be brought in and could shake things up. Lets face it, most of the guys in the dressing room wont know what Sinky means to us as fans.

So it's a No then? Quite sad that one of our more successful managers isn't wanted back at a club that he rescued when it was on it's knees.

Ah well, c'est la vie.

When the inevitable happens, my choice is Danny Lennon. Not sure why.

I think many fans would have him back in some sort of capacity, if the new manager wanted him involved, e.g. a Director of Football/Scout.

Sorry but I refused to come back to SP whilst McGlynn was there. I have bought season tickets each year since he left.

My guess would be that managers returning for second stints are rarely as successful as they were first time around.

Though mostly good if not great in some areas JMs tactics were badly flawed, were he to return and follow the above trend and not even match his 1st around then we'd be in no better a situation than were are currently in.
