I thought I'd gather opinion from the fans, in the form of a poll, on whether Murray should stay or go. I think I know how it will read!

The intention is to show the board how the supporters really feel - although surely they must already be aware of this!

I know several season ticket holders that will not come back until Murray is gone. I too, after yesterday, will, I'm afraid to say not be back. I now live around 50 miles away and will not make a 100 mile journey to sit and endure that. I can no longer persuade any friends/family to join me anymore either!

So, you've probably guessed that I am a yes!

This is a democracy though so please cast your vote!

I'm a yes, 100%. Although I fear the board are just gonna bury their heads in the sand and protect their pockets.

Maybe some form of protest may work, be it boycotting home games, or even going to home games but just being silent. So no applause, singing or even booing. Just nothing at all. That way we can act how the board seem to treat us, as customers and not supporters. Might get the message across. I guess Murray out banners wouldn't harm either lol

I'm struggling to justify the journey over any more. I'm ok with losing games and I don't expect silky football in this league. But 17 quid to watch the same dross, same mistakes every week, same tactics that don't work, no Plan B.

The board needs to realise that there are 101 better things I can do with my time and money on a Saturday.

I'd rather cut my hedge with a pair of nail scissors on a Saturday than watch that rubbish. And only one person is responsible for that.

If nothing else our board is known for its financial prudence. Sacking the manager when he has 19 months of his contract to run is not good business. Neither is not honouring his contract. Which manager would sign for us in the future if we did such a dishonourable thing?
He'll be staying where he is meantime.

Have to laugh at Keiths tag line, Bert do the decent thing. What is the decent thing? Resign I take it. If he does that he doesn't get his contract honoured, doesn't get his wages, wages I guess he needs to pay his mortgage and other family household bills. So I guess Bert needs to do the decent thing for himself first and foremost.

Had to ponder for a while before reluctantly deciding to vote no but perhaps my true answer is not yet. The fact is football is a results business and at the moment we are in a play-off position something which I`m sure all of us would have happily taken at the beginning of the season. I think the BOD will persevere with GM as long as the league position rather than the level of entertainment is acceptable. The latest time to sack a manager during the season is imo Jan/Feb so if we are hovering in the bottom half of the table at that stage I would definitely change my vote.

A few good posts from both perspectives so far.

I'm sorry to say this but I care about the club and not the managers' personal financial commitments. But a fair point nonetheless.

It's difficult to compare a football manager to that of a more every day job. I actually feel a bit sorry for Murray at times as he is totally out of his depth, as is Ellis. Both have been good servants to the club but they do not seem to have a clue how to manage it.

I for one won't be back unless the style of football dramatically changes! I'm 'seek' seeing opposing sides coming and actually trying to play football. I could accept defeat if the players left everything on the park but they look like they couldn't care less. Alloa are a part time club and their players looked more sharp and match fit than ours? Even Forfar looked a far better side and would've beaten us on another day! Don't even get me started about the dunfermline game, where I was truly embarrassed to support the rovers. Well if they couldn't care then why should I waste my hard earned cash!

Last week I would have been a no now I am undecided. Lose next week and it's a loud yes as it will be if we lose our next home game.

I don't like the way things are going either ( e.g. 4-5-1 at home against 10 part-time players). But agree that replacing Murray would be very tricky for the BOD - and there doesn't seem to be a (realistic) replacement lined up.

Could the BOD do any worse than to bring in a new No2 - e.g. a promising manager from the juniors or Highland League on a basic rate, gradually phase Grant Murray into a different role in the club to see out his contract and give the new No2 more and more control of footballing matters?

That way when GM's contract was up there would be a job waiting for someone who had done well - no contractual, ethical or PR issues for the club - and no scenario of having to make yet another quick (probably poor) appointment.

Just a thought - and it won't happen anyway. Sad

The board need to act fast, die-hards are leaving and not coming back.

Unlike the Flyers who are are getting right behind everything possible in attract fans, well done them.

Even Dunfermline are looking at many aspects of attracting fans and funds AND also carrying out research into the success of how other European Clubs make success and winning fans i.e., SC Paderborn.

A study of how Southampton work so well and play attractive football is a must.
