Averages from last year slightly under 3 yellows a game and less than 0.1 red, about 0.33 penalties per game. A referee on the move up, as he stepped up to more Championship games last year. |

I'm usually among the first to dish out pelters, but I thought the ref was very good today.
All bookings justified (Matthews' was borderline, but seen them given), and he let a few meaty challenges go in order to keep the game flowing.
We got a wee break with the Musonda challenge a couple of minutes from the end, although even then, the ref took time to consider that the Pars player had taken a bad touch. Other referees would have had the red card out before they'd even blown for it.

I didn't see the Alloa game, but the Raith TV boys reckoned McLean was pretty decent.
Dreading Napier for the Dundee game - he ruined the league cup game at Tynecastle by giving Hearts a penalty for the ball striking Benedictus' back, then was utterly dishonest by saying our penalty claim struck the Hearts player's midriff, which it clearly did not.
Looked horribly out of his depth.
