Next year will be the 10th anniversary of rock the rovers gig and i hope it will be a great event maybe do it over 2 days.I am not sure what will be happening although i have been thinking about it and i will need a lot of folk to help. All the bands/solo`s who have played over the years will be invited, all the sponsors who have supported rtr over the years will be invited [for a small fee of course just joking ].I also hope that every single charity will be able to come along so the public know how many we have donated to over the years. It will be a massive event and could raise a few quid for the football club aswell. So much will be crammed in over that weekend to celebrate the 10th anniversary that it will be bigger than T IN THE PARK It may also be the last gig but we shall see what the public want and if they want it to continue. What a way to end if thats what is decided _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

No matter what has been said this gig will go ahead and i wanted to make it special so i have sent a few emails to fairly well known bands. One was sent to THE PROCLAIMERS but unfortunately their management say they are coming to the end of a 2 year world tour then go into the studio. So they cant make it.Another email was sent to BRIAN MGHEE and DEREK FORBES 2 of the original members of a fairly well known band called SIMPLE MINDS.I havent had a reply yet but will chase it up in the next few days.If that doesnt come off i have other irons in the fire which will be announced if they come off.I will still have the other bands and solo`s playing as usual but i just want to like i say make it a special 2 days for all those attending. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open for potential act's, as you know the MICKEY 9'S have agreed to be pencilled in .I think you should have them on a bit earlier this time.
I have a couple of ideas that I would like to put to you to , how would you feel about some tribute acts and performers , I.E. fire eaters , jugglers , we could do something like that between bands finishing and setting up . That way the entertainment is kept going without loosing to much atmosphere between bands . Just an idea . Tribute acts might be good and attract a different kind of music lover , maybe and ABBA act , or ACDC , rolling stones act or something like that . Different music streams like ska , reggae etc .
I also know 1 or 2 places whare bands go to jam , I would be more than happy to pick you up and take you to check them out . It will only cost a few double rums , with coke . You might have to stay out after your bed time though. Will the wife allow you to do that as a bit of traveling may have to be done . You could also come to the small festival I wS at whare I spotted the 9, s as all acts are there for little more than exposure .

Just throwing ideas in the air , it would keep things going between acts insted of just a little back ground music , the atmosphere is lost for that 10 , 15 minutes lull between set ups ,
Dancers , magic tricks , it will work , and always keep people interested , stop them from straying out the door .
Insted if fire eaters we could get grubby to hold a lighter betwwen his @$$ cheecks and fart . That would be interesting ,
Like I said its just ideas to try and mix it up a bit _________________ Only on fan talk can supporters find a negative in a 5-0 win. 🤔 |

Nazareth are definitely still around although I believe they are of a black and white persuasion. I'm sure I heard they were doing a fundraiser tohelp the dark side pay their bills - obviously didn't work. _________________ Dougie Hill

I knew that the skids/big country reformed to do that for the pars , along side the anniversary of Stuart Adamsons untimely passing , but I didn't know about Nazareth .
I did know that some past member or members were from Burntisland . Just a shot in the dark , hair of the dog , this flight tonight , etc , lol _________________ Only on fan talk can supporters find a negative in a 5-0 win. 🤔 |
