Used my twitter to put up a reminder (might create an event if I can work out how) and also created a post on PnB under the music section to try and net the guys from there
Hopefully theres a decent turn out again |

Is there a Facebook page for Rock the Rovers?
Could be a good way of getting it out to thousands of people? |

1 week to go and pre ticket sales are extremely poor so i am hoping we get a big uplift this week aswell as people coming down on the day.If no then the club and charities will be disappointed when it comes to cheque handover day.I need help to publicise if folk are able to do so then that would be great.More gig flyers will be handed out tomorrow and at next weeks home game so i hope folk take them and also pass the word round. There would be more info in the press but for some reason they didnt put the photos in that eddie sent them.[might be in next week we shall see].Next week i will send them the gig times and sponsors so i hope they put that in [we shall see].I have been out and about today and the lack of posters and flyers in places where i handed in was disgracefull and felt i wasted my time. The 1 place that had both in abundence was MAN AND BOY BARBERS on st.clair street who always do me proud when it comes to the gig.Its a pity the rest of kirkcaldy wasnt the same as them when it comes to charity and the football club. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

I cannot believe the lack of support from people to help promote this event .
Very disappointed
Allot of effort and time has been put into this folks .
Please come along and support this event even for a few hours through the day . _________________ Only on fan talk can supporters find a negative in a 5-0 win. 🤔 |

Or it might just be normal good old local apathy.
Maybe folks are treating it like they treat coming to see the team and can't be bothered or feel that its getting stale or whatever other reason it is they aren't interested anymore.
If the team had been beaten today and / or get a doing (or two) in the next 7 days the event might not take off for Rovers fans at all. On the other hand if the team thump the Pars and turn Morton over it could boost numbers of those who are swithering, but probably not so much. It's non Rovers supporting, music appreciating others in the 50,000 in the local area that should be coming along.
It's a shame really because I know those who put so much into it to make it happen. It'd help tremendously if the club got back on board and promoted it by sending some players. Maybe Gav should donate all the money made to charity as they seem to appreciate it more. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Easton 6, Gullan 6, Stanton 4, Dick 3, Vaughan 3, Connell 2, Brown 1, Frederiksen 1, McBride 1, OG 1. |

I know its difficult to go to everything but this has been planned for a year and if folk dont come along everyone misses out.A lot of folk who go arent rovers fans they just come for the music but some sort of support from rovers fans or club would be a great help. The players came along last year and sat listening to the music through at the acoustic stage rather than get involved. It was great they were there but getting involved on behalf of the club would be a big help.Styx have sold 4 tickets up to yesterday and i dont know what the the press have sold but if its more than 2 i would be surprised.I may very well donate the money to charity as i think thats all we will make anyway.I know theres plenty going to pay at the door as that is the norm but getting a bit of decent feedback makes me feel better.I hope that between this years and next year we will reach the 60k mark for raith and good causes as we are just over 52k at the moment which is amazing.I have also decided that next year will be the last rock the rovers unless things change as regards help with publicity etc but i cant see that happening.I am gonna push it this week both at the games and away from it but i will try not to get stressed about it but that isnt easy. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

Before I start, this isn't criticism, so please do not take it that way.
Perhaps people are finding the format a little stale after 9 years, and as such aren't willing to part with their cash to pay for what they have seen before? Maybe change it up a little, book something a bit different, how about a DJ to try and capture a different audience? Obviously a little late now to change the format but i'm just offering an opinion and another reason on why ticket sales may not have been as expected. |
