Hard lines on Andy yesterday - injury got the better of him first and third sets were vintage though _________________ Here Wee go again |

Has withdrawn from the Aussi Open in 2 weeks time.
Rumoured to be reluctantly considering surgery for his hip injury.
Will he return? _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Gullan 7, Easton 7, Stanton 6, Vaughan 5, Dick 3, Akio 2, Brown 2, Connell 2, Goncalves 2, McBride 2, Frederiksen 1, McGill 1, Nolan 1, OG 1. |

Pretty sad, Tennis players push their body to limit as much as any sport and calendar has them doing it almost all year, every year.
Not surprised we have/have had all the ‘ageing’ top guys like Nadal, Djokovic, Wawrinka and Murray suffering lately.
Hope he makes it back, I expect he will at some point but doubtful he will reach the same levels.
Sure I read somewhere that the operation he is considering is the same as Hewitt had (twice). He was able to play to a ripe age in tennis terms but was never the player he was previous |

Is that operation Hewitt needed after Shaun Dennis cemented him at Love Street the season we scooshed the league? _________________ Dougie Hill

Remember it like it was yesterday, how Dennis didn't get a straight red for that challenge I'll never know. The pen save much later was good that day but the one punched off the line was better! _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Gullan 7, Easton 7, Stanton 6, Vaughan 5, Dick 3, Akio 2, Brown 2, Connell 2, Goncalves 2, McBride 2, Frederiksen 1, McGill 1, Nolan 1, OG 1. |

Can’t remember that, can’t even really remember John Hewitt playing for them at all! Sounds good though!
They had a decent front line back then when you think about it, Lavety, that boy Eddie Gallacher was it? Former Par? Hewitt who I didn’t even remember and they had Gillies just breaking through too who looked to be something special for a while
To return to subject, Lleyton Hewitt is guy in question, who luckily never had a run in with big Shaun! |

These days you'd probably get a 10 match been for a tackle like that. He certainly did go in late on Hewitt.
As for Murray, I think the end is nigh but I'm sure his many millions will help console him. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

It would be a laugh if this Kyle Edmund chap does what Murray could never do and win the Australian Open.
There's already a bit of an "Andy who?" vibe in the British media. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

"Andy who" is a Scottish legend who has won Wimbledon twice and put british tennis on the map along the way. Those who are ignorant and don't see this then that's poor but not unexpected. As for Edmund you can guarantee andy would be the 1st to congratulate him if he went on and won the aussie open. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE
