Trendy bar with great beers but the whole place has a funny smell at times I think.
Archibalds Simpsons at the end of the road not as classy is cheaper and being a Wotherspoons usually has 3 or 4 Real ales on.
Better off in the Howf and the Grill, or even the Prince of Wales _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Easton 6, Gullan 6, Stanton 4, Dick 3, Vaughan 3, Connell 2, Brown 1, Frederiksen 1, McBride 1, OG 1. |

I unwisely blootered right in about the full pints to begin with.
When we got up the road I asked the wife if I'd need to walk around the plastic houses to get the key. She understandably didn't have a clue what I was going on about.
Guid stuff that Rampant Gryphon. |
Just about swallowed the false teeth pmsl
Just under a grand was raised.
Excellent turnout on Friday (which matched the 2011 Saturday) possibly due to the entire Harbour Bar swallies turning up (apart from Nick obviously!!)
Saturday was strangely quiet when I was in/sober. _________________ __________________________________________

I had a quick chat with Tom Phillips prior to today's game, from which I can reveal that there will be no Stramash this year.
Organisation over return was the reason cited.
The door is open for it to return however. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

Obviously a good few hundred quid profit isn't preferable to absolutely FA after all. (even if it wasn't subscribed by the Raith support that REALLY should have come to support it)
I can understand if there's now to be a big push for a next years event, but, will that be the case?
I though every that £1 counted in this club more so when it was a community thing. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Easton 6, Gullan 6, Stanton 4, Dick 3, Vaughan 3, Connell 2, Brown 1, Frederiksen 1, McBride 1, OG 1. |

I think the lads and lassies who have put in a tremendous amount of time, getting sponsorship, supplies and effort over the years did a great job.
What was sad that it wasn't really supported by Rovers fans. Probably some of the best patrons were CAMRA members.
PS Having said that the location is not ideal. |

Real shame this event isn't going ahead this year. I know it's a lot of work but if it's getting left to just a couple of people to organise, rather than just cancel, couldn't we get more on board. I would certainly help.
I know it's not an ideal location. It's fine when the sun is out and we can sit outside but when on the concourse it's usually pretty cold. We could open the 200 Club this year to provide a bit of warmth. Failing that what about a change of venue. What about the Philp Hall? Plenty of room for the beer and a stage for the bands. I think there are kitchen facilities also for the food.
Just a thought!! |

The Pars have jumped on the bandwaggon, they are having one now. Looks like someone keen to raise a few pounds. I don't see the argument that the Rovers fans didnt take to it, I thought that was the whole point of being a community club in that we look to bring everyone on board. If it raises money who cares where the money comes from (within reason ) |

Good ideas Fireman Sam, the 200 Club could back it a lot more comfortable, its what I was thinking.
However, I think its always best when you are sitting in areal good old pub drinking real ales. How can we convert a location in San Starko to feel like a pub.
PS Goodness know why we had to spend money on security, when most pubs don't have security in normal times? Sure its an event but if it was held in a proper safe place then why did security have to come into it.
Probably just answered my own queries, it was probably a condition of the license, THEN if it was held in a place with a license then we wouldn't require security? |

Tam, you'll just have to settle for a mini RA fest at the Albert Tav. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Easton 6, Gullan 6, Stanton 4, Dick 3, Vaughan 3, Connell 2, Brown 1, Frederiksen 1, McBride 1, OG 1. |

That's always good Scotty, the Central Bar in St Andrews is even better.
However, a real ale festival held inside a dismal grey, windswept cauld south stand concourse or a warm pub with guid banter and atmosphere?
Not much of a choice really? |
